Well, that's random!
Got this Google alert: http://worldcafe.tumblr.com/post/899...les-glenn-frey. It's a little blurb on the LongbranchPennywhistle album. BTW, the website referred to in this quote is none other than glennfreyonline.com!Quote:
If you want a copy of that album for yourself, Glenn Fry has graciously made it available for download on his website.
Oops - he thinks GFO is official. Guess I'll have to email him and correct him.
ETA: I let him know. Cool that he linked to it, regardless!
I did the subtle teacher thing where I spelled it the correct way in my reply. The risk there is, of course, that he doesn't notice.
LOVE your avatar Soda! Yummy photo of Glenn! :inlove:
I second that! Desperada and I are just at our hotel, soaking up the Border eye candy!
There's a good, new, interview with Jack Tempchin in the Huffington Post. It talks a little about Glenn but also about why he (Jack) was happy not being a rock star.
Thanks, UTW. I especially liked this part:
This is for those who think being in a band is a lark. It doesn't matter if you do it for money or because you can't not play music, if you want the fans to like you, if you want to last for over forty years and still be great, this is what you do. Work. It's really no different than other professions in that regard. Those who do the work, every day, rise to the top and stay there.Quote:
Having been close to the Eagles and seeing that happen and being close to their famous bands and all, I just have to say that those guys work ten times as hard as I'm even able to work. They have a different temperament. Those guys can take it. They can take it again and again and again and never stop. I just feel like I'm right where I should be, because man, I couldn't do that.
