Kudos to our boy wonders! They so deserve this! I jumped over to the Berklee website to see if there was any more...basically the same article. However, they make it clear that the two-day event is NOT open to the public. Bummer!

Congrats to our Eagles!! :thumbsup::bow::blueblob::yay:
I think I once heard that Timothy established a scholarship there for a deserving bass player.
You remember correctly!

Congratulations to the guys, and I agree it's very well deserved!
When someone has as powerful an influence on music as the Eagles have, they definitely deserve accolade and honors.
However, I've never understood the concept of an honorary degree. What's their degree in? Being awesome?
It seems a lot of schools with famous former students are eager to give them "honorary degrees" to bring attention to the school more so than the recipient.
In this case, though, none of the Eagles even went to this school, but Berklee still wants to give them "honorary degrees"! Is it really that meaningful to be granted a fake degree from a school you didn't even go to?
But hey, it's cool anytime the Eagles are recognized.
Congratulations Glenn, Joe, Timothy & Don!!!! :thumbsup:
It happens all the time. Mark Knopfler did not attend the University of Sunderland but he has an honorary doctorate of music from there. I think that shamed the University of Newcastle into giving him one too (he actually went to Leeds), subsequently. Eric Clapton I think has one from the University of Surrey because he happens to live in Surrey.
I really don't get this "honorary degree" either??? I do think it is more about getting attention for the school.
I guess it's an honor. Sure wish I could get a few degrees from schools I never attended....I mean why waste all that time going to class?? Oh and they give doctorates...Pretty impressive on your resume!
Soda, you're always so on the case.. Yes, that was the article I read about the scholarship that Timothy established. I can get that because his son goes there & that was very nice of him.
I found this article (it appears to be recent). It lists the top 10 best 'driving' songs (in a recent British study) and our boys made in it at #10 with "Take It Easy". Obviously, I think we all agree they should have ranked higher. :-) Maybe it would be a different outcome if it was an American study. Oh well...
