Eagles are made of awesome!!!
OMG! Gotta weigh in now. I think watching that doc made me an even bigger Eagles fan than I was previously. Learned a lot while watching it.
I tried to have an opened mind before I started watching it. I'd heard a lot of good and bad about it and wanted to see it with my own eyes. Happy I did. So good!
Every time Joe came onscreen, I squealed like a little girl. Can't help it, I just love that man! :nahnah::partytime::iloveyou::heart:

I think my live disc has a slight scratch...just enough to make little annoying blips every now and then! Otherwise....AWESOME!! :partytime:

GS, exchange that sucker for an undamaged one! You want this PRIMO!
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
The Eagles pushed out a status to Facebook that you can download it from Amazon, too. I might do that as I was thinking of buying the DVD so I could watch it on the computer.
Yes, Soda, I totally understand! I think I did give it a standing ovation!
I just watched Part 2 in Blu-ray, our guys are just awesome, you know?
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
I just got mine today at my job. Great thing about it is that I didn't have to pay for it, as I had employee rewards points for being awesome at my job. Will definitely check out the concert tomorrow !!

I just finished watching the live disc. Went to a musical on Broadway tonight, but couldn't go to sleep until I watched this :). I too am floored. It is just incredible.
The footage, the songs, the harmonies! It's stunning. I would watch it again now if it wasn't so late. I so wish this was a whole concert, but am grateful to have something of this quality from this era. Wow, wow and wow again. Words really do fail me.

I'll get my copy today! Been watching the Melbourne concert. I forgot just how good that concert was, glad to have it on blu-ray.
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
Hi all... my first post!
It has some spoilers...
My copy of the 3-DVD set (no Blu-ray with bonus disc available in Europe :-() arrived on Monday, and I finished watching it last night.
Some comments in no particular order...
The package is really nice. Classy.
The documentary itself is fantastic. There's as much depth as you could hope to have packed into a couple of DVDs. It's nice that when they discuss a song or an incident, they have the audio or footage to back it up.
Some of the 70s footage is incredible. Just release it all!
High spots for me, that I can remember...
The clip from the Rolling Stones support slots with Bernie, Don AND Joe. I didn't know they'd appeared on stage together prior to Bernie's departure, which was interesting.
The footage from the early days in Aspen is amazing. I never thought I'd see anything from that period. Also the Linda Ronstadt stuff. I'd love to see the whole show.
I like the way disagreements (Felder / everyone, Azoff / Geffen) are out in the open, and not swept under the rug.
I'm also amazed, given that he's executive producer, that Glenn allows himself to be shown in such a bad light. I'm not suggesting Felder is blameless, but I can imagine Frey having fun rubbing people up the wrong way.
Anyway - the BIG highlights for me...
The warmth shown to Bernie and Randy. Nice to see them get the recognition they deserve.
The 1977 bonus disc.. I wasn't prepared for the video and audio to be so good. They're a hell of a band now, but back then, before the 'Vegas' big-band days, they were incredible. I wish I could have seen them.
And finally... Randy.
I've held the man in legendary regard for most of my 40-ish years - he inspired me to play the bass. But despite that, I've never had the opportunity to see him play, or even speak. The DVD puts that to rest. Take it to the Limit rendered me speechless. What a star the guy is.
