Thanks all. I should point out that even if it is malignant, it has not spread from the liver. I've been very lucky in that regard at least.

I was just going to post in this thread (I've already posted in a couple of the game threads) just to say that I'm back now after my break. Then I read about FP and her impending operation, and frankly that is a heck of a lot more important than me just returning to the board after a couple of months away. FP, I am very sorry to hear about your situation and really hope the operation goes well and that you start to feel better soon.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts! We are seeing the surgeon for a conference today. I should then be able to tell you when I'm going to hospital.

I had the stomach flu Friday and Saturday. Much better now, thankfully!
My admission & surgery will be on February 27. I will get my hubby to post here & on FB to keep you updated.

Good luck FP my Grandfather just recovered from Whipple Surgery for Stage 1 Pancreatic Cancer. So far he is making a great recovery

Yesterday I brought my mother to the doctor for an overdue appointment. I had been at her for a while to go but she is very stubborn and if she does not want to do something she just doesn't do it!! Anyway her mobility had decreased further and the doctor has diagnosed that between this and other symptoms that she has been showing she has Parkinson's disease. I had an idea that thus news might be coming but it's different when you actually hear it. On the plus side it means that medication that she has now been prescribed may improve her mobility and quality of life at least in the short - medium term. It's going to be another learning curve I think.

I don't mean to double post, but I would rather just keep this school-related thing separate from my previous post.
It's nothing major, but I think I'll get a B for Calc II. I know it sounds frivolous to fret over a B, but I think I'll end up with a 3.92 overall at the end of my CC GPA, assuming I get a B. I'm planning on transferring after this spring, since I'm set up to go to my local Cal State U, SJSU. I don't need Calc II for the CSUs, but I applied to a few UCs and they wanted the Calc II.
SJSU isn't my final destination, but it's a viable option up to this point, due to not hearing back from other schools yet. Plus, it's the cheapest b/c I could live at home. I'm a Business Admin looking to concentrate in Accounting, so integral calculus shouldn't be the most of my concern. Considering my major, I'm just going to relax and not worry too much if that's the only thing that hurts my GPA. I'm transferring soon and I'll have a clean slate. So what that I screwed up one class. I'm not going into engineering or comp sci.
I mean, I'll try for the A, but if I screw up my 2nd test, like I blanked for the 1st, B it is!
ETA: It doesn't matter in The Long Run, right?
ETA No.2: I didn't bomb it as hard as I thought. My professor was apparently very generous about partial credit.

@RudieCantFail - can you get into a group with other people and make up test style questions to give each other. All of: the making up of the questions, the answering of them, the checking and double checking of the answers, and helping out whichever of your friends haven't yet 'gotten it' will be good study. Do enough of that and there's a chance you'll all ace the test.
