I have had dreadful wifi problems the last month or so which has made it very difficult to post here, but we changed provider today and are reaping the benefit immediately.

I moved into Berkeley this past Monday for an 8 day orientation, and it has been absolute torture at times. It wouldn't be so bad if activities ended at 8 or 9 pm, but they end at 10 or 11 pm. It's also pretty much nonstop, so I just ditched an optional rally that went from 9:30 to 11 pm.
We did this and it was really cold. My hands went numb. It took 2-3 hours, and I felt really bad for cars that were passing by near the football stadium.

I know that I shouldn't be complaining, but man, it's draining.
On the bright side, it's really cool to meet new people in a mostly stress-free time. Also, I got into the stat class I was waitlisting for, and I know other transfers that are taking it too. I'll probably drop the one I'm in and just do that.
Rudy - So happy for you ! You will not regret it ! This will open so may doors for you when you graduate.

I'm getting adjusted to starting the new semester too although for a teacher, it's a bit different!
I have a question for you guys:
There's someone on Facebook who I talk to occasionally on there, but I am not really close to.
Lately, she's been posting photos of herself where's she talking about dieting and exercising and she's clearly gone way too far. She looks gaunt.
Is it my place to say anything when I've so rarely talked to her?
Soda - I think you should talk to her. From experience I doubt she will listen.
I bet she has had other people try to talk to her too.

My one sister is an English teacher and taught for a year or two at a local county college. She then went back to teaching HS. Like the HS kids better.
I think I might know who you mean - you could talk to her but again I doubt she will listen. But at least you will know that you tried rather than watched.Quote:
