Actually, Tim has admitted he used to have a habit of stealing room keys!

Actually, I missed seeing the entry about Tim stealing keys, but I can tell you, there is much evidence to support this. In the Eagles display at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, there is a very large duffel bag full of hotel room keys that Tim "acquired" over his years of traveling with the band.
