You can use this to download them: keepvid.com/ . Just follow the directions. They'll be .flv files (Flash Video) which means you'll also need to download the player, but it's also free.

I tried a few times to covert the .flv file to .mpg or .avi so that I could work with it in other programs, but the loss of quality was so noticeable I gave up on it. Still, I'm glad to be able to download them in any form. Sometimes videos will be pulled from YouTube and gone forever otherwise - most recently, I noticed that happened to the Henley video Johnny Can't Read.
