Just got done telling my friend's husband I wasn't comfortable with the "flirting" he was doing over Facebook chat. He wasn't sexually explicit - he was just saying he thought I was sexy, could I describe what I was wearing, etc, but I just kept thinking "What if my friend saw this? What would she think?" I shut him down after that but now he says I misunderstood and he was just being playful. Perhaps I overreacted... it's all so awkward!

It's so easy for him to say he was just being playful after you told him you weren't comfortable. The bad thing about texts and posts is that you just can't tell sometimes. The fact that he was doing it via chat where his wife couldn't see it is also suspect. I'd stand strong on this point if I were you.

Yes, I agree with PM. I would let things cool down for awhile. I maybe somewhat of a Southern prude but I would NOT be happy if my husband was telling one of my friends via the internet that she was sexy. I think situations can escalate very quickly online. Follow your instincts Soda.

The thing too about face book or any other chat is that you are entirely dependent on the medium of text, reading. If someone in the room spoke to you you could work our from their tone, facial expression, etc if they were flirting or not, or if they were serious or joking.

In chat you can only rely on text and its very difficult to withdraw or rephrase what you say.

I'm watching Ireland v Germany in soccer. It's a World Cup qualifier but we are out anyway!
