Guy Clark, a legendary fixture of Country & Folk music over the past four decades who helped craft the sounds of 'Outlaw Country' and 'Progressive Country,' has died after a lengthy cancer battle at age 74.

Among his best known songs are "LA Freeway," "Desperados Waiting for a Train," "Out in the Parkin' Lot," "Boats to Build," "Cinco de Mayo in Memphis," "Asleep at the Wheel," "She's Crazy for Leavin'," and "Baby, I'm Yours." His songs received coverage from such artists as Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Bobby Bare, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Steve Wariner, David Allen Coe, Hayes Carll, John Denver, and the Highwaymen.
