    Default RIP Jimmy Buffett

I just read that Jimmy Buffett has died. He died yesterday. So sad. I haven’t read anywhere of what he died of.

    RIP Jimmy.

    Brothers for life. RIP Glenn

I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley

Oh no - what a shock! I just heard this on TV and came here to post. so thank you Shun for beating me to this. I am so sad to hear about Jimmy's passing. I remember reading a few months ago that he had been hospitalized, but it didn't go to any details about his condition. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and the many Parrotheads mourning his loss.

    R.I.P. Mr. Margaritaville

Was so upset to see this, but he certainly lived a full life. He inducted our guys in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Here , his performance of the funny song he wrote with Glenn, "Gypsies in the Palace", and one of the first performances of "Margaritaville" with Glenn accompanying.

He left the world a happier place. RIP, Jimmy.

Timothy talks about the two-song Buffett tribute the guys did at last night’s show and also mentions being part of a small memorial event for Randy at the Troubadour, https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...it-1234821011/

I really enjoyed the tributes, tbsfan, thanks for sharing them.
Seeing Joe in his parrothead hat made me think of how long it has been since we saw him sharing his goofy side. I wonder if it is because he doesn't have Glenn to clown with, or if Joe/others decided to drop his humorous segments.

Thank you for that, Frey Follower.

Mr. Buffett passed from a rare type of skin cancer.

It was fun seeing him doing that song. I think he would have really let go but the parrot kept slipping off. One thing I did notice is he put his left hand in his pocket a few time and when he wasn't playing his fingers have really started twitching just like his right hand.
Everybody in the audience was sure singing along.
