The founding original member of the Osmonds, Wayne Osmond has died from a stroke. He was 73.
Some probably remember the Osmonds back in the 70s. Or if you’re under 40, your parents probably had them or Donny on their wall. Haha Me I didn’t discover them until the 90s. Way after their huge popularity. They knew Elvis. Played with Led Zeppelin when they both were performing a day apart at Earl’s Court in London. They sang back up on Conway Twitty’s version of Heartache Tonight (funny thing about Heartache Tonight. I was sick of that song for years so when I started to like the Eagles I couldn’t stand that song. Haha) The Osmonds were never taken serious (especially in the US) because of their faith.
Back to Wayne. I met Wayne a few times between 2009 to 2011 when I would go to Branson, Missouri to see his him and his brothers perform there. I always went in the fall. He was such nice sweet funny shy guy. He always knew my name when I saw him. He had to retired back in 2012 because of his first stroke. Sadly strokes run in their family. Praying and thoughts to his wife Kathy, his children and the whole Osmond family.
RIP Wonk.
