I KNEW you would like that, PM. I thought about you the whole time I was reading the article.

Hi everybody. I'm new to the board. I just started coming on here yesterday and became a member.

I know I'm a little late for this, but I wanted to say something about the documentary.

First off. I was born in 1980. So I was only 5 months old when the Eagles broke up or their last concert happened on July 31st. So I knew nothing about the Eagles(not until HFO), but I knew about Don and Glenn. I remembered the Heat is On, but I have to admit. I hated that song and I didn't like Glenn Frey. I kinda like the song now since I always quote the title when its hot outside.

Now Don. I remembered All She Wants to Do is Dance, Boys of Summer and The Heart of the Matter. I do remember hearing TLWE on the radio. I actually didn't like the long hair, but looking back now. He was kinda sexy and hot. Just like Glenn, I didn't like Don either, but Don has grown on me over the years. He's my favorite and I just LOVE his voice and he's still hot for a 66 year old.

Anyway. I really enjoyed the documentary. It actually took me a while to actually sit down and watch the whole thing in 3 hours since I didn't know about the documentary until 3 or 4 months ago. I would stop and go back to where I stopped another time. The documentary was sitting as one of my DVR recordings for months before I decided to watch it. I knew nothing about their history. I have to admit, I really didn't like Glenn after watching this, but than again. I wasn't a fan of his music anyway. I actually hated Beverly Hills Cop and I still haven't sat down and watched the whole movie.

I think the first time I ever heard of the Eagles was HFO. I remembered when the MTV special first came out. I also remembered when they were inducted into the RRHOF because I was kinda watching to see Fleetwood Mac and the Mamas and the Papas. I wasn't fan then, but was slowly becoming a fan.

I thought it was well done. I learned a little about the group since I knew nothing about them. I actually had their music on my mp3 player, but I was just listening to them because I was liking their music.

I did feel sorry for Don Felder. Like I said. I knew nothing about their history, but I remembered hearing something about him being fired back in 2001. I actually bought his book about a month ago.

So much stuff stood out. Glenn is left-handed. That earn brownie points with me since I'm left handed too. LOL And Don was an only child(actually I heard this somewhere else. I think it was the Inside Job promotion video, but I know that had nothing to do with the documentary). The concert clips. I love seeing the old concert clips I've never seen before.

I love their tight harmonies. Like one artist said (I think it was Barry Gibb and I'm paraphrasing this), its hard to blend with others who are not related to you. I think I said that wrong, but something like that. So much hair back in the 70s. I'm guessing Don got the perm for his curly hair because after the 70s, his hair was straight.

I was hearing Don talking and boy. His speaking voice is different than his singing voice. He sounds like a baritone, but sings like a tenor. I still can't get over that. OK. I love Don's blue eyes. I'm a sucker for guys with blue eyes.

One other thing. Did Joe always talked like that even when he wasn't drunk. His voice has grown on me, but it was annoying at first. But he's such a sweetheart.

I would love to see them in concert, but I'm sorry to say. I'm not going to pay over a $100.00 for a good seat. I think the highest ticket price I ever paid was 80.

My hats goes off to Joe for staying sober all these years. It is hard, but you can do it.

Welcome shunlvswx. Glad you found us here and I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the documentary. There's a ton of information here about the band and each of it's members. If you are interested in expanding your knowledge, you've come to a good place. Enjoy!

I forgot to add. I have to admit. I knew nothing about Bernie and Randy being in the band before the documentary. I only knew the current lineup; Glenn, Joe, Timothy, Don H and Don F(before he was fired).

I was reading back about what songs people will know about the Eagles. To tell the truth, it wasn't Hotel California. Heck I use to hate Hotel California, but that song has grown on me. I still love the acoustic version of HC from HFO. Too bad they never played that again. Actually the song that's on my repeat on my mp3 player is New Kid in Town. I love that song.

Some questions just shouldn't be asked! There are plenty of places on the internet that can give you an idea of what he and others do with them if you really want to know
