    LOL::::::::::::::

    No, believe me, I'm not a hired hand at JWFC in any way. Just a member for a few more days I think. I saw some posts over there about some of the members who had requested admission to the M&G and had not received confirmation. One was leaving for Chicago today and hadn't been given any instructions.

    I've been a member with JWFC for, hmmm, 5 or 6 years I think. Some good peeps over there. This is the first time I can recall hearing of anyone in the club not getting information necessary for attending the M&Gs. I suppose it could be that the room was too small for everyone who requested admission, but I would have thought that they would have notified the requester and explained why they were not able to extend the invitation to them.

    Is that Chicago concert tonight? (Sept 24)

    Yeah, it's me that MikeA and ticky are talking about, plus another lady named Deb. In my case, it appears that the e-mails I sent asking for info were lost, and the early e-mail I sent about going was not explicit enough. I was informed that there was no room for me now.

    As for Deb, she did get emails from the JWFC saying they were setting it up, but was not told where to go or what to do, so she'll miss out too. I can understand my situation, but I have no idea what happend there.

    I'm going to hang around in hopes there's a cancellation. Becca of the JWFC promised she would call me if that happened.

    Well, I do hope you manage to get in.

    When I made the Chi M&G many years ago, we went to a cottage or something close by and got our instructions as to where the entrance we were to use was. I think we even got special parking places. We waited outside for a while before they let us in. The room was rather small. Room to set up a table of snacks, a sofa and that's about it. I think there were probably 15 or 20 of us. Joe eventually came in, but wasn't really in a rush. We just kind of milled around and let Joe come up to each of us in his own time and chat a bit. Then he sat on the arm of the sofa and asked if anyone had any questions.

    I'm afraid that most of the fans there were sort of starstruck. I'm afraid I probably dominated that Q&A period. Got Joe to talking about Wichita and all the family he still has living here. He donated his Grandmother's house here in Wichita to a group that helps women who need a place to go. Sort of a "safe house". He talked some about his model Rocketry after I'd asked him about it, Ham Radio interests, a little about guitars and other equipment, about his workout routine (stringent to say the least!), his sobriety. I asked about the influence from his Mother whom I knew was into classical music but didn't know was the "go to" person for matching up costuming with the music in operatic performances!...And he talked a little about the Law Suit between the Eagles and Felder. He made it very clear that he had NO PART in that. In his words, He is just a "Hired Gun" in the Eagles. Of course he coudn't talk much about it because of the legal position the Eagles were in (basically a gag order!)

    He said no disparaging word against the Eagles and made it very clear that he was "An Eagle". That's HIS BAND. I think those comments came about after someone (probably me) said we'd really like to hear the James Gang or Barnstorm again. Of course it was only a year or two later that the James Gang did reunite for a tour. I managed to catch them at House of Blues in Las Vegas (Mandalay Bay).

    He had said he had at least one solo album "in the can" and enough material he's written to come out with a couple more...all rock 'n roll FUN stuff.

    I understand the M&Gs he's had lately are much more abbreviated and coreographed. In fact, I heard that there was a Security Gorilla who ordered all of the attendees at the Dallas M&G to line up against the wall and do not approach Joe....something like that. Too bad. Either Joe has changed or there was something going on that made him uneasy.
