ETA: VA - you and I were replying at the same time. FYI - I've pre-ordered albums early before and still didn't receive them until a week after the release date.
I've always gotten them either ahead of time or on the date itself if ordering from the Eagles website (or Joe's). Glenn's was delayed because the vinyl was backordered, and it was drop-shipped from the manufacturer later. It's only been when ordering through Amazon or Walmart that it was after the release date. Of course, I've always ordered the very moment a pre-order could be done. This has been true of other artists who use LiveNation as well, on the release date.

Like Soda said, as a caution, grndctrl doesn't always have their act together and can screw up an order regardless of release status.
