Little things that remind you of the Eagles (5/07 - 10/15)

Today someone checked out an Eagles CD at the library where I work! This is the first time I can remember this happening, if you can believe it. And I've been there nearly five years! Of course I mentioned my love of the band, and even told him I had seen the Eagles over the summer. (in Glasgow) I think he was a bit overwhelmed by my enthusiasm, but gotta spread the love!

Much to my disappointment, the 'Texas Grill' turned out to be a tiny takeaway place serving chips and greasy burgers. It looks pretty good from the outside!

I've just been watching a few minutes of Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends. He is interviewing a guy from a white supremacist group in South Africa, and I happened to catch the part where the guy said he was an Eagles fan! A strange version of Hotel California was playing in the background, and he said "Do you like the Eagles? I'm an Eagles fan. Although I never really got Hotel California... What did that whole thing mean?"

I got a 3 in one reminder of the Eagles yesterday. A customer at work had on a hat that said GlennEagles Country Club. I asked him where the country club was located and he said it's in Dallas. So in this one hat you get The Eagles, Glenn, and Don (Dallas). And just because I told him that I liked his hat he tipped me $5.

Yeah, and I guess you could say that there's also some perks to being an Eagles fan. I doubt that any of my co-workers would've been reminded of the Eagles by that one hat like it reminded me.

So, I'm at work at the moment, in town with one of my service users - but I had to post this! You remember that kids' book I told you about ages ago, with the Eagles Garage and the pumps labelled Henley, Frey and Walsh? Well, I've looked for it everywhere over the past year, to no avail. Today, I'm out with a service user, and I decided to have a quick look around a book store. What was right there on the shelf? The Eagles book! I had to buy it - I know a few of you guys wanted to know what it was called. I was almost right - it's Al's Auto Workshop. Anyway, I'll post some pics when I get home! I'm chuffed! I think it was meant to be that I wandered into that shop.
