I think we all are a little biased in how we are interpreting this, aren't we?

Lots of 'maybes' there. Just my thoughts. The thing is, we will probably really never know the truth. We can guess all we want, but what good does that do?

And here's the fundamental difference. There is a lot of room for interpretation. Some people will read the worst into every statement. Some people won't. Each person has to decide for themselves whether or not to assume the worst. One leads to harsh judgments, anger and negativity a lot more quickly than the other... but like I said, each person makes that choice for themselves - not only here, but in every part of your life.

Most importantly, though, we have to recognize that just because we perceive something a certain way, that doesn't make it fact. Thus, we shouldn't state it as such.

Well, it seems I have something in common with Glenn Frey. Sometimes I say things without thinking them through, too!

All joking aside, when I watched the doc I was anticipating worse from Glenn, based on what I had read here. I wasn't really bothered by anything he said. He was talking about things that happened so long ago...I don't know...but I think it's so cool that there are so many different feelings and thoughts after watching the exact same documentary. It's what makes life interesting.

First of all, I don't think Glenn had any idea of what Timothy was being paid...I don't think bands going around announcing their salaries.

I only know this because it's what Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were initially paid by Mick Fleetwood when they joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, but it would be common knowledge among musicians obviously. I interpreted it as Glenn was saying Timothy deserved more than standard rate.

He did not compliment Tim in ANY way here....Sorry, that's a backhanded compliment if I ever heard one!

Oh & he also mentioned how loaded & shit faced he was, Yes, that was really nice too....

Probably - it was set by the musician's union. Yes, even musicians have a union - at least in California!

That reminds me of when my daddy played professionally in Ohio. He started doing it when he was underage and he still remembers how excited he was to finally get his union card back in 1960. Of course, he would later abandon that to become a chemical engineer!

And how do you know Tim was making "standard rate"?? The fact is that you have no idea what he was making & doubt Glenn did either.. He was a band member, not a hired session musician...I would think he was making more than that. He joined Poco in 1969, so I'm sure by 1977 he would be making more than that....This has nothing to do with Fleetwood Mac in 1975....or what Stevie & Lindsay were making.

In any case, WHATEVER he was making, to call someone out on their salary is just WRONG! Would you like your salary announced on a documentary?? I sure as heck wouldn't. I felt very bad for Timothy in what his "friend" Glenn said about him & not just about the money thing.

Obviously, once again, since Glenn is my favorite, my opinion is worthless and wrong, so I'll not waste my time posting anything. Except, of course, the point being made in the movie was that Irving didn't want Timothy to be an Eagle and Glenn talked him into it. Very MEAN of him. It's kind of obvious to me that we must assume every breath he takes robs the air from someone who deserves it more, and he does it deliberately.
