You'd think instead of a necklace he'd wear a bracelet--that's what most doctors recommend as it's easily seen by EMTs and emergency personnel. People where them for even the most senstive of conditions in a discrete manner--it's not like it woudl scream out in neon--I HAVE A GI ISSUE! Perhaps the necklace is a religious medal or something invovling his kids?
