Thanks for going to all that trouble, both of you!

I'm not sure how to analyse it but Mr Frey certainly has one of his 'leadership' looks there.

The fourth of GL"s caps shows the first time Joe looks at Glenn, but Glenn has his eyes closed. The second time (my cap) they make eye contact and Joe gives that sideways glance and half wink. I can almost hear him saying "How am I doing, Boss?"
I just did them quickly. I'll try to capture that shot tomorrow.

That is pretty cool!!! I can see that Goober face you were talking about as well. I've always love the friendship between Glenn and Joe.

You came along and changed my life Glenn!!

Joe says in the doc that he was insecure and totally in awe of Glenn and Don. What's the words he used...darn, I'm going to have to watch it again!

Anyway, with that self-description, I can imagine that he really wanted Glenn's approval. It's interesting. I'm not sure I would have ever thought that Joe was insecure. That's what I love about this movie. I learned about their relationship with each other; not necessarily by what they said, but how they looked together.

I think he said he was intimidated, and in awe.

I think you are probably right PM, I think Joe just wanted to be in a band so bad and tired of being the main guy and wanted leading, so to speak and share the blame AND the fame with others and not have it all be on him. Thank god he did! I think Joe just wanted to keep things tame and enjoy playing music and wouldn't stir up too much trouble with Glenn.

I think Joe and Tim kind of went with the flow, for better or worse. Although in the doc Glenn said Walsh was on Felder's "side" in the 70s. I really don't see much of that, but rather that he just kind of went along with whatever... I think Felder was much more of an alpha than Joe. I think Felder out of the LR-HFO lineup was the only guy that really didn't just go along with it, again - for better or worse. That said, I admire the fact he didn't just sit back and take it, no matter what happened. No one should have to feel like they can't speak or should have to keep to themselves because it will upset someone else. No one should have that kind of feeling, especially in a relationship like a band is. Everyone should have the right to speak up if they don't like something and not just be fearful of upsetting someone. JMO on that part of it. That said, undoubtedly his standing up got him fired, which is a shame. A band shouldn't be like that when if you say you don't like something, you are removed. I think all members should have equal input and say-so in a band, "Song Power" or not. Otherwise they are all just backing musicians for an artist basically.

It'd be really nice if Joe could do something with Felder again outside of the band but I think he's afraid of stirring the pot, so to speak. I find it hard to believe they haven't ever talked in a friendly way since the firing, maybe they don't publicize that they do out of respect for Joe still being in the band and not wanting to cause problems. I understand that.

I hope Joe isn't such a wuss that he would let someone tell him who he can and can't be friends with. If I were Joe, I would have been wondering why Felder thought he deserved more money than I did when I was a bigger name.

I honestly doubt it was so much that Felder wanted more money than the rest, but rather that he wanted everyone to get equal pay, which they should IMHO.

I doubt very highly that Joe is a wuss, but I don't think he's alpha and I don't think he would want to stir the pot with Glenn by becoming friends (at least publicly) with Felder again... If you ask me, I think Joe isn't the one at fault here. I think he just wants to be in that band and honestly I think he's afraid of that being jeopardized by talking about Felder, being friends publicly, or playing together.

It's possible, perhaps you're right and Joe is really that timid, I prefer to think he's a little stronger than that but who knows. For me, I would find it an ethical problem to give up a friendship for money. Again we can't know so you make one assumption and I'll make another and we'll both be happy!
