I guess Glenn recognized Mr. Solters didn't deserve to be fired after all as Larry Solters works for them to this day. He's head of their PR and indeed worked with Glenn even outside of the Eagles as part of "Scoop Marketing." I have press materials from Glenn's Strange Weather tour that bear Solters' name. I wonder when he was re-hired? We'll have to guess at that since that part of the story didn't make Felder's book.

Felder says the firing was on the HFO tour, so after Strange Weather.

I began to distrust some of Felder's comments when I realised that the guy he described Glenn as treating particularly badly during the recording of The Long Run and who only stayed because he needed the job is still with Glenn all these years later.

Oh ok. I hadn't gotten to the HFO part in his book when I was looking up Richard Fernandez's name.

Interesting, UTW. I read that part. Tommy Nixon was the guy I think. I had thought it was him that we were talking about, but he wasn't fired.

Thanks for the timeline info.... but yeah, both Larry Solters and Tommy Nixon still work with the Eagles/Glenn to this day.

Sorry, I think I'm just confusing you! Tommy Nixon wasn't fired. I was just using him as an example of where I'd got one impression from reading Don Felder's book but after reading/listening to later interviews I realised that my impression wasn't entirely accurate. This leads me to distrust some of Felder's other interpretations of relationships.

Good to hear it. Funny that Felder neglected to mention that!

I searched the book. Larry Solters is listed in the Acknowledgements, page 166 and page 273.

Richie Fernandez is mentioned on pages 86 and 183.

ETA: I didn't read the pages, I'm watching hockey! Just did a quick search on the Kindle app on my PC.

No apology necessary - that's not too hard to do, lol.

Glenn has said, as recently as the Tavis Smiley interview, that Tommy Nixon is his best friend.

No problem, UTW. I think I confused myself.

Like Glenn said in the documentary, "Cocaine brought out the worse in us." I guess Glenn gave those guys another try. He wasn't thinking straight back in the 70s.

You're right. Don F forgot to mention they are still working with the guys.

Its funny that I didn't put two and two together with Richard Fernandez from the book. I wonder when he was fired. I guess after 1976 and before the LR.
