'Not all Irish people drink!!' This kind of pat cliche does my head-in sometimes. Mention Bono and drink in the same sentence and it's the old stereotype 'well, he's Irish isn't he?' Like blooming leprechauns and shamrocks and oh yes, 'top of the mornin' to you' which I have never ever heard one Irish person say!!

I do not drink, neither does my mother nor my best friend. Not that I have anything against drinking in moderation but gee whizz...are all Aussies lazy surfer dudes? Er, no!!!

...sorry for the rant but my Cass County package is in transit somewhere mid Atlantic and I'm very frustrated - I just want to get my hands on it!!!
...Well it sure makes you wonder the things that some people will say. They can see black and white but they don't seem to notice the grey...

DD - Hope you get your Cass County package very soon - I know the wait must be frustrating! And I gotta agree with you about stereotyping thing.

I agree with you there DD - so sick of the stereotyping, don't think it will ever really end......

And I really want my CD - having to make do with Spotify for the moment

To give credit where credit is due, "Wonderful Union" got me my pre-order bundle on the release day, as promised. If it keeps up the good work, eventually it will purge away the stench of its previous incarnation groundctrl's ineptitude (though I'll never get my 2013 Fleetwood Mac tourbook).

And I agree about how stereotyping can be maddening! Don should know that, given how Texans are given such a hard time by ill-informed people who think we are all hicks. Yes, a lot of us own cowboy hats, cowboy boots, pick-up trucks, and guns, but that doesn't mean we're all ignorant hillbillies!

Brought this up a few times, but nobody notice. Did anybody notice in the liner notes that Will is playing drums on No, Thank You?

It was an interview from LA Times.

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...920-story.html

"I have three teenagers at home — there's one of them," he said, gesturing toward his daughter, Annabel, who is along with her father on the road to tend to his hair and makeup. "Being their father is extremely important to me. I've already been gone more than I'd like to be gone. So when I'm home, I try to stay engaged. And that took priority. That took a lot of time, and that was time well spent. I wanted to do that.

I don't have a physical copy of the album yet, so I haven't seen the liner notes. That is cool that Will plays drums. Like father, like son!

I can asure you, shunlvswx, that I'm paying attention, even if I don't comment. It really isn't unusual any more to have your kids in the band. In fact I'm surpride Lucy and Joe Walsh haven't teamed up yet.

If it was Will Hollis playing drums, that'd raise an eyebrow.

Yep shun - I did notice Will played drums on the album. Don sheltered his kids from the public eye when they were younger, but now that they are getting older, I guess he's letting them make some choices about how much they want to be in the limelight. I've seen recent pictures of Annabel and she is a beautiful girl (must have good genes ), but haven't seen any pictures of Will or Sophie in many years.
