I believe that he chose to tour because it was something he loved doing - standing there on stage and feeling the love of all those people. What could be a bigger high than that?

ETA: Soda, I know it's hard at the moment, but try to take care of yourself and you too GA! We are all thinking of you, GA and all the devoted Glenn fans.
    It will get easier. .........
Wow thanks for posting this article! It brings back memories of my time at Dondero. I was in the same class as Glenn's younger Brother Alan. We were on the wrestling team. I got to see the Eagles perform a couple times. The last time was in Kansas City about 2012.

For days I have been trying to figure out how it all fit together and this explained it a bit more clearly ..

Another significant part of the article makes me so sad: Glenn was a brave soul indeed
Thanks for that, tf. That really explains just how bad this disease is and how hard he must have fought it. Poor Glenn.

Man, reading this, I'm even more amazed at what Glenn managed to do during the 15 years he had RA. To say that he was a trooper would be a huge understatement.

On Facebook, I just found out that today is "national hugging day" in the states, so here's a few group hugs for everyone. . I'm so grateful for this site.

Still looking for statement from Timothy, Bernie & Joe. Perhaps they had some type of agreement with Don to not say anything for a while.

In hindsight I was wondering where Joe's Thanksgiving, Xmas & New Years posts were. Last I saw of Joe he was in India. Perhaps he was praying. It seems like something the modern day Joe would be doing.

Nancy, please take care of yourself. I know it's a very difficult transition but we all need you healthy!

I don't understand why it's a big deal that Joe and Timothy haven't released seperate statements. One main statement was released with all of their names on it, and Don released one himself, which was appropriate, given their relationship and partnership. They are all hurting as much as we are. There has been no statement from Scott, Stueart, Will, or any of the backing band (at least none that I'm aware of), either.

Here is what David Spero (Joe's former manager) said about Glenn.

Glenn Frey...I could tell stories for days about him. In our business there aren't many that will stand up for you. Glenn was that guy. And his laugh....I remember sitting at the Little Nell in Aspen, having dinner with our wives, and Glenn started laughing. One of those 'he couldn't breathe' laughs. It was infectious. We all laughed, for hours it seemed. That is how I want to remember him. I really can't believe he is gone. It hurts...really really bad. Yes, he left all of us a tremendous discography, shows we will never forget, but I remember him most as a friend. The summer we did the Walsh/Frey could not have been more fun. After most shows Glenn and I would take a walk and he would bitch about this and that, but then we would laugh and then laugh some more. He gave me the title for my book. He said I should call it 'If You're Reading This I Must Be Dead.' And now he is. Goodbye my friend. Rest in peace. I will remember your laugh every day......this is a Henry Diltz photo from the Walsh Frey tour at Nautical in Cleveland. It rained like hell, but the band played on.
Here's the photo he shared. (Love Glenn's pink panther shirt)

Here's something from Wade Biery who sometimes played bass for Glenn's solo shows.

It's not a big deal. I'm just surprised. Joe made a comment on Bowie's passing. Joe & Timothy worked w/Glenn for a lot longer than anyone in their back-up band. Also, their names are known to the public. Joe knew Glenn for years before they were in a band together as well.

Wonderful photo! You can tell Glenn's a little wet from the rain. It looks like Snagglepuss on his tee.
