Hey, that looks like the grumpy Joe I saw in Chicago!

Mike, I noticed that too. It could be, it was just a pill bottle right? PLUS he has a bandage on his finger, looks like a pretty serious bandage.

Yeah, "just a pill bottle" but the pharmacies quit using them. They were perfectly shaped for use as a slide though and glass gives a much different tone than metal slides.

Joe says he still has that slide, but he NEVER takes it on the road. It's too much of a prize possession of his considering where it came from: The inspiration of virtually all of Joe's accomplishments with the slide is attributed by Joe to Dwayne Almann. Joe wasn't the only one Dwayne inspired!

I don't remember where I heard it, but Dwayne got his inspiration for the slide work he perfected from harp players (harmonica). It was a different sound than was normally associated with slide guitar work and Dwayne made it famous.

We had sick Joe in Cleveland, made him look kinda grumpy. I think they passed it around at the end of the tour, you'd think they'd use separate mikes.
