I almost got all excited when I looked at what Felder was holding in that pic commemorating the 100th Gibson anniversary.

I thought it was the guitar that I helped my nephew pick out back in 2001. We went to a shop that specialized in Gibson equipment and after picking on a lot of different axes, Billy (my nephew) fell in love with a Gibson Blueshawk.

The Blueshawk is a little different from the Nighthawk though both have the general shape as the Les Paul. But the Blueshawk is a hollowbody and has a "fat switch" like B.B. King incorporates on his "Lucile". Neither has a carved top (3-dimensional) like the Les Paul. It had an awesome sound but didn't have the sustain that a solid body guitar has. Billy was thinking that with the eff-holes, he would be able to practice with it without an amp. Theoretically, that is a possible thing, but in reality, it just doesn't work. I tried to talk him into a Nighthawk but he was SOLD on the Blueshawk and as far as I know, still plugs it in.
