Just decided that I'm not going to vote for the same track consecutively. This round I vote for Those Shoes.

For a group that spends so much time, money and energy on making a track sound as great as possible, I could never understand the point of the double talk-box thing, until I learned that Felder was originally supposed to sing it.

When Henley took over the vocals, I suppose Felder was left with nothing to do so he just doubled Joe's talk-box track. No doubting, the talk-box guitar sounds incredible live but it's a bit overkill on the record. Always thought it'd be better with a more subtle use of the guitar effect.

Those Shoes went up in my estimation when I saw Cher performing a cover of it on TV, many years ago, even though I'm not a fan of Cher.
Even cher's version had a bit of Talk-Box, although it was a lot deeper in the mix than the Eagles version.

If The Long Run album was to have an adequate number of Frey sung tracks, Disco Strangler would definitely have to go plus, at least, one other Henley sung track, either Those Shoes, Sad Cafe or Greeks but I prefer all 3 of those to Teenage Jail.
