I can't help but wonder how Joe ended up with this art work. I also wonder how he has managed to hang on to it. Joe in his wilder days has lost and/or given away several of his original guitars. It must be something very special to him that he has managed to hang on to this piece of rock history.

That is one fancy "Deuce" Joe is holding in that shot FreyPower! He seems to be playing them a lot these days. Hollow Body and Semi-Hollow bodies. Guess he's getting into a more mellow tone...or maybe he just likes the feel of them. I know I would!

Not crazy about the looks of that one though cause the texture reminds me of snake skin and snakes creep me out! :lol:

It's called a Duesenberg Starplayer TV in Ice Pearl. It's made by a company in Germany. Lots of artists are using them these days. Bob Dylan, Mike Campbell (from the Heartbreakers), Ron Wood (from the Stones), Joe Walsh, etc.

I'd love to have one, and probably will someday. They are about 3k even for the one like Joe plays. I'd also like to get one of them Ernie Ball Music Man guitars at some point. I have 25 guitars now. Hope to expand that out by a LOT! :lol:

Hehehe! That's called the "Ice Pearl" finish from Duesenberg they feature on their Starplayer TV Ron Wood signature model guitar. It's the Ron Wood signature finish. Mike Campbell from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers has a signature Duesy too, and his is blue with white stripes.

It does look like a tattoo, but I think it might be part of the red decoration on the mic stand. If it's not, it must be brand new, because otherwise surely we'd have noticed it before!

I think the "red decoration" on the mic stand are plectrums (picks) and Joe does indeed have a tattoo, i'm sure it's been mentioned before......if you enlarge the pic it looks to me like a birds head/beak but could be anything :hilarious:

I love this one. My two favorite guitar players in one pic! (Although you can probably guess who is my favorite! :hilarious:) I for one miss seeing Walsh and Felder play together. What a chemistry they had. I would give anything (almost anything! :D) to go back in time and see them on the Hotel California tour, The Long Run tour, and the Hell Freezes Over tour. Especially the HC tour. Man that would be SO awesome. But I was only alive for the HFO tour LOL. When they were playing shows on the Hell Freezes Over tour I was about 7 years old though. :hilarious: Obviously didn't know about the Eagles or even listen to music let alone play guitar and admire their playing! :rofl:

I agree with you on all of this! I was actually just admiring a video that Joe Vitale posted on facebook of him, Walsh, and Felder playing Meadows. It's amazing the music Joe and Don play when they are together :nod:

Wow AZ where did that picture come from?! Looks like Joe has a nice Fender Telecaster there. Looks vintage actually - probably a 50s Telecaster or Esquire. I can't tell if it has a neck pickup or not (too dark of a photo). But that's a great pic. Maybe a pic to go with his new CD?! Regardless - I like it. Now if I could just find a bigger picture to go as my wallpaper. I haven't seen Joe play a Telecaster in a long time - mainly it's been Strats, Duesys, and Music Man's lately.

Looks like it's a Resonator guitar company.... Very interesting. That is one guitar I've never really looked at. Being a rock n' roll guy I've never gotten into Mandolins, Fiddles, Violins, Banjos, Dobros, Resonators, Pedal Steels, Lap Steels, or any Woodwind or Brass instruments either. :hilarious: For me it's electric guitar and acoustic guitar. 6 string and 12 string. Maybe I'll get one of those Resonators someday just to play around on.

Yes - they sure are. When I saw the pictures of Glenn that ticky posted over in Frey Fever, I was pretty sure they were from the Party of Two show in Aspen that some of us Borderer were at in September, 2010. Now, that I've seen these, I'm positive about that. :thumbsup:

I have to say Joe has been looking really healthy lately and I'm glad to see that. When I look at photos of him from the 80s and the 90s they really scare me. I'm so glad he has sobered up and IMO gotten so much better at guitar (he was a god in the 70s and just keeps getting better) which I thought was impossible. He really looks healthy/happy. I'm glad to see that. I'm so happy about the upcoming album. Joe truly is my hero in every sense of the word. Not just on guitar but for life as well. Joe truly is a hero IMO and is doing so well these days.

That makes me happy. :)

Joe playing a Les Paul! That is what I like to see! He RARELY plays them anymore (only for a short time during the talkbox solo in RMW) after he got into it with Gibson in the late 90s. I wish he'd play them again - especially his older ones. The Goldtop with the Bigsby is awesome (seen on Christchurch) as is the Cherryburst featured on HFO.

It has complex meanings and depends on the intent, but represents one of eight Auspicious symbols important in Buddhism. If it's blue, it a sign of spirit triumphing over the senses, which would make a lot of sense for him. The one on his fret arm looks like a yin-yang symbol, which can represent a lot of things. No way to know if I'm right, but it's a possible answer.

It may be the lighting, but Joe's looks green to me. What does a green one mean?

I would guess Joe's is blue, but green is balance, harmony (not just 5-part) or action. Devotions offered to Green Tara helps overcome danger, fears, anxiety.
So, I guess green would represent as well.

I really like that first one EF with the Cherryburst Les Paul... Man he had so many Les Pauls back in the day. And lots of different colors and all of that. He was the Les Paul poster boy (or at least one of them) of that time. He also played Stratocasters and Telecasters but the Les Paul is just synonymous with Joe for me...

It's pretty HS&G if you ask me.

But, as I was going through Joe's old thread, I stumbled across something REALLY interesting to me. One of our members, Witchy Mummy, posted a picture of her and Joe that was taken at a meet 'n greet that he did in London. Joe is giving her a big bear hug, which, of course, everyone was jealously commenting on. Witchy Mummy made the following comment to which I replied:

Yes, that crow tasted downright delicious, eh? ;) We were foolish to make such assumptions without even knowing the guy. You know, I used to think he was predictable. However, he has turned out to be the one most full of surprises... and he continues to surprise (and amaze) me to this day.
