This is a Tibetan long horn (good name eh?) I believe...probably reliving his trombone days. Long horns kinda sound similar to them. I would thing this is pre-LROOE. more like FW1 era maybe?

I'm very happy to see Joe looking so well and smiling. I suppose Hell Freezes over resumption and LROUE have been a bit of a Godsend for him so that he's working regularly again. I hope life treats him well. Joe was never as well-known or as popular in Australia until Hotel Calefornia. In some of the old film clips, he certainly provided me with a lot of laughs. In Australia, we call people like Joe 'characters' - means fun people. :)

This is the photo where I first had a look at how truly hot Joe was. This came from Rolling Stone in early 1990. I was a raging Don Henley fan back then. (Still do love Don). But one look at Joe and I was done.

I remember thinking how sexy he looked and what pretty eyes he had. It was this photo that started it all.

Yes, this was in NYC in the WTC area. I wanted to go, but I ended up not getting there. I heard they were giving out wristbands the day before, but I couldn't get there. I would have been too upset if I went down there & didn't get in. Nice photos! I was lucky enough to get to see Joe on Mon, so I was thrilled.

PM, I agree with you. If you look at Joe's music, there's so much depth and insight there, so much more than silliness. Those are my favorite songs of his - Turn to Stone, Help Me Thru the Night, Pretty Maids All in a Row - the ones that move you on a deeper level. Being the joker is all well and good - I like to make people laugh myself - but I also like to see his other side as well.

I agree. At his solo show in Tulsa back in May he said that he feels really happy at the moment, musically and personally, and that his confidence in his own music has grown so much. He has opened up and exposed the real him, which is both scary and liberating. I think you're right, PM - this is the real Joe, and it's great to see! He didn't feel the need to act up on stage, although he maintained his cute Joe humour in some of the intros. He was sweet and humble, and just all about the joy of the music. I'm so thrilled that he's in such a good place right now - it almost makes me a bit emotional thinking about it!

I agree it's good to see both sides but for me I always see Joe as one of the funniest guys in rock n' roll and I like his joking/goofy side a lot.

Life's Been Good is my favorite Joe song and while it does have funny-ish parts it's also a great song in general with good lyrics. That song will never get old to me. Especially within the Eagles with the other guitar and harmony vocals. That song to me sums up the 70s better than any song out there. I love LITFL and that is about excess too and crazy life but LBG just seems to take a lighthearted approach to talking about it, which I enjoy. And the intro riff is by far my favorite electric guitar riff of all time.
