Haven't seen this interview with Joe and Paul Reed Smith talking about playing styles and his guitars.
Good interview if your a guitar player.. They talk about fretboard wood and pickup adjustments among other things.

Thank you! I hadn't seen that.

I was glad to see Joe handle the Don Felder questions like a total pro. He didn't fall into the trap of discussing what we already know (ie Felder kept wanting more and more without legitimate reason and could no longer handle being second fiddle and it got him fired). He also didn't try to stop the conversation and say "I can't go there". He just said he had fun doing the solos and that he was brilliant at what he played on Hotel California. Done!

I thought the question about favorite guitar players was fun and I really liked the fact he got geeky on the guitar stuff.

Joe sometimes surprises people with his knowledge He's got a great understanding of how to make music and his understanding of his gear is a lost art among a lot of players now. I think a lot of his electrical understanding comes from being a ham for so long If you've ever seen the Gibson series videos with him string and setting up a Les Paul you can see he's done it a lot
As far as Don Felder goes, I don't recall ever hearing Joe really trash Don personally. He's usually very non confrontal He seems to respect players ability regardless of what he thinks personally about them. He has always said he studies other guitar players all the time trying to figure out how they play and get the sounds they do. He's still trying to figure out Terry from Chicago and how he made the sounds he got from his guitar.
People just hear how Joe speaks and sometimes don't realize how smart he really is He's was always reading Had to laugh when he said he's probably one of the few men that actually reads Playboy for the articles.
As long as he's been in the business he's a true historian and treasure and many other players recognize that too.

I agree with everything said, Austin and Scamp. Joe is a class act. He just gave Felder a textbook demonstration for responding to questions about your bandmates.

On the same PRS Guitars YouTube channel, Paul Reed Smith is interviewing Eric Johnson, but Joe Walsh appears as a special guest for a couple of minutes and talks to Eric.

However with the sequence date order, Joe's video should've been posted first on Oct 7th and then Eric's on Oct 14th.

You'll see why when Joe leaves and then Eric talks to Paul afterwards with briefly mentioning the recording process of solos in 'Hotel California'.

On a side note, Eric Johnson and Don Henley have a mutual connection with Christopher Cross in that they are both appear as guest musicians on his 1979 self-titled debut album.

Heres a different video about Joe's song "Life's Been Good" It's two collage men, Andy and Alex. Apparently they listen and review songs. This was the first time they've heard Joe's song. Hearing what a couple of younger generation thinks about Joe's song. To bad they didn't research Joe first as they really didn't know who he was and RMY they called an Eagles song. One guy really likes the drummer, Joe V, but doesn't know who he is either. These two guys have a lot on YouTube with different artist

West of the West The video is about Santa Cruz Island and how Joe got involved with it. Marla in the video is Lucy's God Mother Joe is still involved with Santa Cruz Island today and goes every year over to the Church. It's also where Joe and Lucy's mother got married. Sometimes I wonder if maybe Joe and Marjorie got married there as they have always kept where they got married a secret.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhBhJ4utoLM

This is only a part of the whole video. Unfortunately they cut out Joe and Joe V's song Island which is one of the best I've heard it. Joe is on of the Board of Directors for the Island Conservatory and Marla is head of it. Lucy is also on it now. I actually spent a week on the Island at a dive camp. You have to bring everything you need. They only recently have began opening the Island up to the public and started allowing hacker to stay over night. They're trying to restore the old house and buildings. On of the biggest things is sewer. It has to be pumped onto a boat and taken to the mainland. The Island is now under the Parks Dept. They have done a lot to restore all the native plants and animals, such as the Island Fox. Catalina is part of the same Island chain off CA.

This video popped up on an Osmond fan group on Facebook I'm a member of. Somebody posted this and wanted us to guess which Osmond member was part of this all-star band (of course Donny Osmond. I love his music and the Osmond family). Anyway. Next thing I know, Dick Clark says Joe's name. I was shocked because I didn't know Donny had shared the stage with Joe.

Here's a video from the 40th Anniversary American Bandstand Special. Amazing talent on that stage. Dick Clark introduces Joe at the 2:52 mark and Joe does a guitar solo at the 7:05 mark.
