With all the hotness going on over in Frey Fever the last few days, I have to admit that I've been neglecting Don. I thought I'd resume posting pics from each era and it's time to move on to solo Don. However, I went to the I Can't Stand Still photo gallery on donhenleyonline.com to find a photo to post. Unfortunately, there are only a few from that era so I chose this. I'm not sure where this was taken and why Don and Stevie are together as their relationship would have been over a long time prior to these pics. My best guess is that they were shot during the recording of Leather and Lace (or the filming of the video). I bet there are some people around here who will know exactly when they were taken. :wink: :wink:

Those photos are from the Enchanted Box Set booklet. There's no information given, but it's definitely during the recording of Bella Donna. It could be from the recording of Leather and Lace or The Highwayman, which he also sings backing vocals on. The only video for Leather and Lace was a live video from 1981 and it's an all-girl version, Stevie and her backup singers (she changes the second verse to "sometimes I'm the strong one" lol). Too bad!

I went over to cmt.com today to see when they would be showing the Eagles new video. While I was over there I clicked on the link to Trisha Yearwood’s new video, and it brought me to the CMT video page with several of her older videos posted. I forgot how much Don was featured in Walkaway Joe. They show him almost as much on that video as they do on Trisha’s Inside Out, and he looks unbelievably handsome. 8) With Don around her looking like that, it makes you wonder how she ever had eyes for that other fellow in her life...who is he anyway? Hello, I have been lurking for a little while, finally decided to post to say that Don Henley is one of the founding members of Felicity, and there were only four members, so he has to be in one of those two photos, even if it is hard to recognize him. I agree that he is the one in the middle in the second photo. I think in the first photo he is the one with the white jacket.

Those of you who have asked for Buffalo just bear in mind that it isn't a full length show, as Soda explained in the Frey Fever thread, whereas Mountain View from the same tour is full length. From what I have seen however, Buffalo may be slightly superior quality.

Thanks for all these lovely screen caps, Maleah! I think the one above is my favourite. Don was always shy of really "performing" during the '70s, and here he proves that he's a performer. I recall him saying in the post concert interview that he feels The Eagles perform better today than they did in the '70s. 8) I agree with him. I particularly enjoyed his performance during "The Long Run". What a strong opener to the concert!

Oh and I totally agree with you Mrs. F on the performer thing. It's something that's always come naturally to Glenn....but Don has really had to mature into it...I guess you could say. You can tell he's much more comfortable now being out in front. The Long Run performance is one of my favorites too because he plays to the crowd, interacts with his bandmates, and is really into the music. I love all his add on's at the end and how he smiles at someone in the crowd at one part (I think maybe around the beginning of the second verse or the end of the first chorus? somewhere lol).

That picture of Don is a hoot. His expression is really funny, and I know what is happening with his hair--that is what a fro looks like as it starts to grow out. I know because I permed my hair into a long curly fro in the late 70s-early 80s too, and that is pretty much what the top of my head looked like when I grew my perm out, too. :wink:
