VA, I am unsurprsingly with you on this. His hatred of Glenn appears so intense that it is very hard to believe that he misses the 'camaraderie'. He will do anything to slight Glenn. Objectively it is hard to blame him but sucking up to Henley isn't going to work for him either, not now.

Also as HH says his one contractual obligation album (before Road To Forever) is hardly a 'solo career'. He put it out & then he vanished. The others all worked, with varying degrees of success. Glenn was much more successful as a solo artist than Felder will ever admit.

    Congratulations on 1000 posts GS.

Well - I'll say this for Felder ... at least he's consistent. As was pointed out in the documentary, he was never happy and always complaining about something. So I guess it's no surprise that the trend continued in his book and now the documentary and post-interviews. He's is the only one that is dwelling on the documentary at this point - but, not to worry because he's gotten over it, of course.

As far as the solo careers, Glenn's was almost as successful as Henley's, and, in fact, if you consider how their hits charted, Glenn's biggest hits actually charted higher than Henley's. So, if you don't rank Glenn's on the same level as Henley's, it was really wasn't that far behind. His solo career was certainly a lot more successful than any of the other band members. It's rather difficult to do a fair comparison in the time alloted in the documentary, so, I'm really not sure it's really worth Felder complaining about at all.

As far as the relationship between Henley and Frey, I think it was glossed over to some extent. But, I agree with VA - the point is they worked through their differences and have forged on and continued to soar as The Eagles - to me that's the important point.

Glenn and Don probably bonded a lot over having to deal with the lawsuit.

Yeah, he does that a lot in his book, too. Perhaps I shouldn't be so quick to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Regarding the rest of my post about the omission of his solo career, though - I still wish they would've acknowledged Felder did a solo album in the 80s, even if it were just a throwaway line.

Perhaps I can relate a bit. My dissertation is really specialized and although it's available in university libraries, it hasn't been read by a lot of people. Still, I would be upset if someone said that because hardly anyone read it, it was the same as if I "hadn't done anything for eight years" - like it doesn't count because it's not popular even though I worked really hard on it. That would hurt pretty bad.

I understand how you feel, Soda. Just because not that many folks have read your dissertation doesn't mean it isn't good or that you didn't put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in to writing it. However, wouldn't it also be unrealistic of you to be upset because it doesn't get as much attention as a highly-publicized award-winning piece of work? It's kinda like the apples to oranges comparison.

I dug this shot too and I also took a couple of screenshots of it. I like how this is Glenn saying "good job, Randy for hitting those high notes!" trying to encourage him it's cute! Randy admits to having stage fright over Take It To the Limit and ultimately ended up not wanting to sing it anymore so I like Glenn's attempt at positive reinforcement hehe

I think he's adorable there, too!
