I was hoping someone would screen cap this HD version! My captures from the Showtime stream were a nice stopgap to tide us over while we waited for the release, but they aren't HD-quality sharpness by any means. I can't wait to see yours!

I'm glad this doc cheered you up. This doc came right as I got some bad news and it's also been a wonderful distraction for me. Like you said, warts and all, they're still amazing.

    Plus, your avatar is gorgeous!

Thanks, Nancy! I'm so glad the doc helped you through a rough time, too. I love all of it but I can see myself watching the first part especially over and over... I can't get over how awesome all of that '70s footage is. I almost feel like I know the guys now! It's made them a lot more real to me, and I love that. I love getting a real sense of their personalities in the '70s, rather than just still photographs and the odd grainy performance clip. I love the humour and I really like the sense of the relationship between Don and Glenn in the early years of the band. It seems like they were pretty much always on the same side.

Joe's story is really touching and I get emotional when I think how different things could have been. I also loved learning more about Timothy and his feelings before and after he joined the band. It must have been such a blow to him when they broke up! Thank goodness it all worked out in the end.

on The Long Run it's credited as Timothy, Don, and Glenn in that order...can't imagine why it wouldn't be that way on the DVD...
The order has been changed on several songs to put Glenn & Don first. ICTYW they did this, but you can come to your own conclusions......

This makes me angry...Timothy has never written much...especially compared to Don and Glenn...so what little he has written should be left alone...I am under the impression that Timothy brought ICTYW with him when he came to the group...and that Don and Glenn helped finish it...am I incorrect here?...His name should remain first as the composer...as it is on The Long Run...this makes me angry...did I say this makes me angry...How can they just change things like that?...I know I can be a little hyper sensitive where Timothy is concerned but I don't care who this is about...it's not right...Do you know what specific other songs where the credits have been changed?

It's like, Timothy has ONE song in the Eagles, everyone knows its his song. He brought it to them, he sings lead, others helped write it - they go over its evolution in detail in the documentary. On the album it was properly credited. But for posterity and history's sake, ironic considering the title of the documentary, they (Glenn) can't even bring themselves to continue to list him first on his ONE song (I know he has writing credits on other Eagles songs, but this is the only one that is HIS). Glenn was the "music producer" for the documentary, which would lead one to believe he had final approval of the music credits. There was no mistake, they chose to list it this way. Absent litigation, I don't know how a writing credit changes... my understanding is it is a big deal in what order the names are listed. I know it is a huge deal in the film industry, maybe not so much with music, but there is no way that Timothy B. Schmit doesn't appear as the first name in the writing credits for that song. Sad. Maybe they're just going in alphabetical order now, so Frey is listed first for all songs.

It appears we were composing our thoughts at the same time. Great minds think alike!

It has to do with Glenn retelling the story of why Randy left the band. Glenn could have said, "Randy was unhappy and decided to leave", and left it at that, but instead he mentions the "Take It to the Limit" issue and says that he told Randy, "If you don't want to sing it, then why don't you f**king quit? If you're so unhappy, just quit." Glenn may have been 100% right about the situation, but I feel that it was very disrespectful to Randy. Randy wasn't just some lackey, he, and Bernie for that matter, were founding members of the Eagles along with Glenn and Don H. and I don't think Glenn's comments were called for in the retelling.

Thanks for listening, I feel better now.
    I totally agree with you!

On the very brief part I watched which included songwriting credits from what I remember it was the usual 'Henley-Frey'.
