In a similar vein, I came across an interview with Jack Tempchin which, naturally, touches on the Eagles, Glenn Frey and gives a little background on Already Gone. I love these stories of people hanging out in small clubs, playing music and writing songs.

Nice interviews, ss and UTW. Cool that they link to GlennFreyOnline in JD's interview and I remember reading Jack's interview a while back - pretty impressive to me that he went a couple of months writing a new song each day!

We have a forum for discussing other artists called Singing For the Sake of the Song. The Souther thread is there.

Aha! Didn't realise that. And I've just seen the New Kid in Town thread. Should have intro'd myself on there. Too late now I guess.

You can introduce yourself in New Kid In Town any time you like. Many people have done that.

    Hi Lamorna,

Discovered the Kinks rather late (two years ago) but as you say - never really too late - so have intro'd myself on the NKIT thread. Finally!

    Glad you're enjoying the blog.

Suddenly I have a whole new respect for One Direction. Well, not really. But still. Who would have thought?

I had read that article before but I didn't know who One Direction was at the time. I have since learned about them so it was nice to read the article again with a different frame of reference. Thanks for posting.

    Interesting especially this:

'Certainly for You Belong to the City and those songs, Glenn would make up all the bass parts and he would always try to do a signature part, like its own little melody, something unique to that song that you could recognize. I always thought that was pretty cool.'

    Go, Glenn!
