I was reading John Hartmann's blog and it included a story about an anonymous band and their new manager. It adds a little to the version in the documentary.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but right at the start of part 2 (literally a minute in) does anybody know where the clip of the bloke driving through London listening to Already Gone is from?
(Oh, and having a roadtrip across America listening to the Eagles is one of my things to do before I die)
I agree that it was probably filmed specifically for the documentary. Tho the sushi thing is real. I mean, I think it was filmed for the documentary but the sushi restaurant is in Venice, CA. Hotel California is played for "last call". The chefs clap on beat as shown in the documentary.

Cheers guys, just thought I recognised it from somewhere.
Actually only the second time I've watched the final part (I have the attention span on a goldfish), so it was good to revisit. Loved seeing how they created Get Over It; but there's still something that really gets to me when Glenn describes the whole 'midnight to sign' thing with Felder. I don't want to flame anyone but I can see very clearly why some people dislike certain members of the band.
I think it helps to remember that he's acting the thing out as it happened at the time and not necessarily still that worked up about it now. Also, as you saw in the documentary, the MTV thing came together quickly, as did the HFO Tour itself. Things were scheduled and soon to happen, and there was a band member not under contract. Moving forward without one and waiting meant Felder would have them over a barrel, so to speak. Time was up. Could it have been handled better? Yes, but few have that sort of tact and diplomacy to begin with, and add in the short fuse he had with Felder already, well, it was an explosion waiting to happen.

Hmm Interesting post. I wonder if nobody saw the documentary(talking about the general public not us), would they had known what band they were talking about. (does Dr. Evil) It sounds true. Heck the band don't even know what Irving said to that guy.

Thanks for the link, UTW. That was fun to read and Hartmann's story does seem pretty consistent with the HOTE documentary. I guess Irving had to start fine-tuning his powers of persuasion early on.![]()
