If it was Will Hollis playing drums, that'd raise an eyebrow.
True, Funk 50. Some children of famous stars sometimes go into the business. This is different. Like IABAD said. Don rarely says anything about his children and I thought of Don of trying to keep them out of business and not follow in his footsteps since their are some liars and bad people in the entertainment business. I think I remembered an interview from last week when he said he didn't want Will (he didn't say Annabel or Sophie) to get into a profession that has something to do with copyright. I need to find that interview.

It's nice of him to let his 2 oldest do a little more. We might see or hear a little more of his children as they get older. Annabel might want to do hair and makeup for a living. So she started with her father which Don could had easily gotten anybody.

I was surprised to see his 17 year old playing on his father's album(depending on when Don started recording No, Thank You. He could had been 15 or 16) or Annabel going on tour with her dad to do his hair and makeup. I'm glad he did do that. I really do want to know how much of the drum playing is Will and how much of it is of the other guy, but it sounds good.

He said that about not wanting his son to go into areas concerning copyright during the Billy Joel interview. I did read somewhere recently where Don did say Will was a better drummer than he was.
I was a bit surprised that his daughter is possibly taking time away from college to do his hair/make-up. Perhaps she is the one responsible for plaid flannel not being so prominent thus far. He has however gotten a bit too much milage on the black & white dot shirt. I am not complaining but I saw it at least 3 times this past week while he was in NYC.

Just came across this article. I don't think I read it anywhere here yet. If it was already posted, SORRY!

Well, Annabel is now an adult(I believe she's close to my age), so Don can't protect her from the media/limelight as much as he to be able to.

Thanks for posting that article, JMS. It was a great read. Sad to hear Don talking about not having his voice much longer. I wonder if he might ever publish his poetry? Ever since reading the 1979 Rolling Stone article on the band, I'd been wondering whether Don's mother was still living. Now I know, and I understand the leaving the things as the were thing.

As for not wanting to share every detail in this current generation being a southern thing, I agree. I have family who are at least a decade younger who think that same way Don does.

While my youngest son has all the social media apps he seldom posts. My oldest son, sigh, I can not tell you the amount of times I have had to call him to remove pictures. It's fine with having a few pictures of you & your friends celebrating, you can not appear professional with multiple pictures posing with HUGE drinks. I seldom post on FB. I do tweet but that is usually complaining about the Dodgers, Duke, Formula 1 racing & my now crushed fantasy football team.

I understand keeping his mom's home since he can afford too but even her clothing...YIKES! My mom passed last July. My siblings & I cleaned her house out that Labor Day. None of us wanted the home & didn't see the point of keeping it. Maybe it is a southern thing or only child thing. What works for him works for him.

You are correct, he can only protect his kids for so long. I can honestly say I have never seen any pictures of his kids.

Me either, jms. Other than the Taking You Home video, I've never seen his children. I know some have seen them at shows.

I only have Facebook. I never got the hang of twitter(don't have any friends who would follow me). I hate the idea of "selfies". (I've taken about 4 of those total in the past 3 years). I rarely, if ever, post photos of myself because I honestly hate having my photo taken. The ones from the family reunion were the first photos of me since December 2014 (GED graduation, I had no choice).

My grandmother passed back in early August. My uncle(who lived with her) has hardly touched anything of hers, except for some clothing that my mom wanted. He can't bring himself to do it. It's too much on him. The memories that come back cause him too much heartache. Her room is exactly the way that it was when she died, and I don't expect it to change. Because of this, I can understand why Don doesn't change anything, especially since, from what I gathered, he was very close to his mom..

I've only seen Don's kids in the promotional video for Inside Job that's available on DHO.

When I was watching and listening to the interviews Don did last week. He kept bringing up this one artist, Stephen Foster. I was like who the heck is Stephen Foster. I was surprised to know I knew a lot of his songs, but didn't know he was wrote or sing them. Camptown Races, Oh Susanna, Old Folk Home(aks Swanee River), Beautiful Dreamer etc.

Here's an interview that Don did on Friday at 106.7 litefm. This is the second radio station where they put up a video of their guest from that day. I don't think my local radio stations do that here.

Well I would follow you! My media name is the same on here.

My mom took 5 years to throw out my dad's clothes. She threw them out when she decided she wanted the extra closet space. Going through so many memories. It was harder with my Mom because I spent so much time with her. My sister & I spent a long weekend doing it. We still laugh at the amount of cool whip/butter containers. She bought 3 storage cabinets to store her "collection".
