1979 Pink Floyd releases their double-album epic, 'The Wall.' It stays at #1 for 15 weeks and has to date been certified 23 times platinum (signifying one million copies) in the US, making it the third best-selling album of all time.

1984 Duran Duran hits #2 in the US with "The Wild Boys".

1988 James Brown is sentenced to a six-year prison term after a year's worth of arrests on various assault, drug possession and vehicular charges. He leaves prison on parole on February 27, 1991.
