I showed my mom the photo of the album cover. Her reaction "That's him in in his younger days, isn't it?" :hilarious: :rofl:. Apparently, letting his hair turn a bit more gray makes him appear younger!

My Mom had a way of making eye contact that would stop us in our tracks. We called it, plain and simple, "The LOOK" and when you were on the receiving end you knew there was going to be a consequence! Ironically all of us kids have mastered and used "the Look" with our own kids and we now see them using it on THEIR kids! Yes, we have become our mother, lol!

I've seen that look from both of them, The Glare, usually when someone in the audience is recording video. I was on the receiving end of it once from Glenn (years ago) and it's enough to lower your blood temperature at least ten degrees.

Yea Glen does smile whereas Don just looks grumpy. Love him dearly but I wish he would just let loose & smile.

My mom had the bluest eyes but boy oh boy when when she got mad her eyes were icy blue! She was also a prolific note writer. She would write notes & tape it on every surface in your bedroom that she found offensive. I'd come home from school with notes taped everywhere. I swear she could have invented post-it-notes.

I tried it on my sons, they just laughed! No one had that look down like nana did. I miss that lady.

I hope that the clothes he's wearing in the video and the ACL taping are a sign of what he's gonna wear on tour. They compliment him alot more than the plaid! (Or as we say here, flannel).

I agree with you about the dye, Brooke, but he looks better on the video than the ACL show - it was way too dark! I need to get a job as his PA to showcase him at his best. He looked sooo good for the F1 interviews because he didn't have much dye, just natural looking and so 'swoonsome' as a result :)

The thing with "mature" hair is you can't have it all the same color or it looks...well...phoney. I am a dozen years younger than him but the trick is using high/low lights to make my hair look more natural. With a full grey beard & that reddish hair just doesn't look right plus he doesn't have the skin coloring to carry off red.

I love the lighter stubble on Don - especially the way he has it in the new video!! But, yeah, I want him to stop dying his hair as well, the natural grey look is the way to go for him at this point... the reddish look is not so good.

It's like the reversal of the bearded look for Irish men - no matter what colour their hair is, when they grow a beard, its nearly always reddish in colour :grin:

I think Don was starting to lose weight when he was still touring with the band. We kinda did notice Don looking smaller, but still have the belly. I guess he was getting to do this two month tour. With him being up front instead of behind the drum, he had to get fit.

Don probably gave them permission. When I first read the article, I don't remembered seeing a slideshow of baby pictures of Don.

His parents were handsome people. We see where he got his looks from and poor his ears too.

I must be in the minority here, because I love his long-haired era. Thought his dark flowing locks framed his face beautifully. Remember the video for TLWE? Don was breathtakingly gorgeous! :heart:

Face, yes. Who wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that look? :heart: The hair, I just don't like it. He just looks "weird" with it. (For lack of a better term). Still a very hot screen shot and video.

I have to say his hair was fabulous when it was loose like that! It was only when it was ratty and scrapped into that ponytail that it looked terrible :-)
