Thanks for all your nice comments and good luck messages! As for my exams when they come, I've seen my timetable and 'Good Day In Hell' does not begin to describe it... more like 'Good Week In Hell'! After they are all over I'll be back for sure, doubtlessly bumping the threads I've missed! :D I'm not going just yet though, I will try and make it on here every day this week.

Good luck in your exams JCL. Always a tense time I guess. We have exams from next week in our school.
On the home front I'm busy being Fabulous. My parents are doing OK thank God. Better than last year so I hope it stays that way over Christmas. The kids are all in musicals and sports events for Christmas too - tehre arent enough hours in the day.
Hubby got promoted so he will be moving off the shift next week and will be on regular 9-5.
And I'm looking forward to LA in January

Ga, awesome news for you and your hubby! And the kids of course!
Such a busy time of year. I'm all decorated at the house, but I can't seem to get my presents wrapped and under the tree. My grandson (2 1/2) was over visiting and found one of his presents so I just gave it to him! Never even thought about him seeing it! He has more though, as you can imagine, being my only grandchild!
I'm also looking forward to January!

In case I don't come on here again until 2017, just wanted to say now that I wish everyone on The Border a very merry Christmas. :grouphug:
I shall take my break for the time being. It's been wonderful to celebrate the HC anniversary with you and I have had some other very interesting discussions in the last few days. See you all in the new year! (if not before, I might pop along on Christmas Eve or some time like that, can't guarantee it though)

I'm about to embark on a 34 hour series of flights to New Zealand. I'm not looking forward to the trip, apart from the 7 hours I'll spend in Japan.

I wave hello from across the Tasman AT! Enjoy your time there!
My daughter got her Higher School Certificate results & university admission score. She is pretty happy with them & hopefully will be going to University of Technology or University of NSW to do a bachelor of communication or arts (respectively). She's just now gone off to an open day at UNSW (UNSW is in the eastern suburbs of Sydney & we live in the southern suburbs).
As I said on Facebook this may be the start of 'empty nest syndrome'.

The Higher School Certificate is the Year 12 (final year in high school) exam. I then said she also got her university admission score so yes, she has just completed her final year of high school.

Ok funny story cause all I can do is say it is what is.
My other half ,jahh, ordered me the timothy b schmidt poster andit came as one of the 50 that were signed.
Problem is the item came crused and soaking wet from.ups
It came destroyed .
My hubby contacted the company to let them know how it arrived ,
Shame is it cost almost to special ship it as to purchased item

In November, I crapped my pants a lot in a classroom full of students, I tried to get help and couldn't in that moment of panic and ran out of my classroom.
I put my job in jeopardy
I am working with my union and doctor and am getting t put on short term disability and might get 70% of my pay while my doctor gets things stabilized.
I am so worried because without my job, I will be homeless.
I am asking for prayers to make the district approve the short -term and but also praying we can get this under control.
And while at it, I could use a miracle in the form of money if ever there was one. I don't owe that much but not having an income will leave me homeless.
I know you have given me good thoughts before. I would appreciate them again.

Of course you have my prayers SC but this is an insane situation. Many people are able to continue working (perhaps with a minimal amount of support) even if they have a disorder. I hope you will be one of them.
Do you not have to pay pension contributions? Or serious Illness benefit contributions? If so there will have to be a way to maintain your income too.

Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing well.
I haven't been on here much for the past month because I've been really busy in real life. I really didn't much of a Christmas "break," lol. I start my spring semester of college on Monday. My class schedule is normal, unlike last semester, so I hope that I can get back on here more often then.
This past Monday night, a squall line of severe tornadic thunderstorms swept over southwest Georgia. NWS issued close to a dozen different tornado warnings, including 2 for my town. I've never been that scared in my life. The destruction and damages are wide spread. Half of my town looks like a disaster area, with downed trees, powerlines, and poles and damaged homes and strictures. The big city, Albany, is in a similar situation. Apart from some downed tree limbs, my mom and I escaped unscathed, but many people are still without power 3 days later. Several counties and towns are like this. It'll be a long time before southwest Georgia gets back to normal.
The cedar tree in front of my trailer.

On top of this, my car briefly caught on fire Tuesday night because of a short in the cellphone car charger. Luckily, it was quickly put out, but the car is a mess. It should be drivable after we can clean it up, though.

I just finished the first draft of my Eagles music inspired 6th novel!!! :D I’m so excited to finally have this done as I’ve been working on it since last April and was hoping to get the draft done before school starts. I’ve posted before but this story is based off a lot of the scenes and story I used to imagine about 20 years ago when I was 10/11-years-old listening to my parents’ Eagles “Greatest Hits” CDs. After Glenn passed almost a year ago I kept listening to the Eagles and his solo music and those old scenes came back to me and I decided to finally try writing them into a novel. I also combined it with a few other story ideas I’ve had over the years and it’s worked. :D
Don’t want to give too many details away as I won’t be able to start the revising stage till at least May with my college classes starting back up on Tuesday, but it’s a romantic drama set in the modern day Nashville music scene and it’s title is “Playing with Fire”. :) I also already have my playlist on Spotify as well with the playlists for my other novels, but I always include a copy in the actual book. Includes a lot of other non-Eagles songs too. Very excited to work with it more and hopefully get it out there later this year or early next year.

That's awesome, Buffyfan. I love your title, "Playing with Fire"; I associate it with a few Eagles solo song titles, too: Hearts on Fire, Can't Put Out This Fire, Playing in the Deep End, Playing It Cool, maybe others.
buffyfan145
01-13-2017, 11:34 AM
Thanks Delilah!!! :D The title's got multiple meanings, especially how it's used as a phrase as a warning but also in a musical sense, and some of the other songs that are on my playlist for it does have those aspects and the similar themes as those songs.

Well winter hit about a month ago. Then it cleared up making nice icy roads. Now today we are having a Winter Storm Warning. Up to 12" of snow in the valleys and more in the mountains, With wind gusts up to 40mph. Yikes. Is Spring every going to get here? Also, have to travel to my daughters tomorrow about 1 1/2 hours away. Oh what fun it is to live in the Rocky Mountains! LOL

Yikes, DJ! Drive careful tomorrow!
I wish we would get some snow. We've had an inch or two a time or two this winter, and ice the weekend I was gone. Not really a normal winter for here. We usually have several 5 or 6 inch snows each season. My grandson is three and hasn't been able to make a snowman yet! He was sick the first snow and the second skiff was too dry. He has his snow boots, pants, and etc all ready but here we are with gray, ugly mud! :scowl:

Wow, all the talk of snow is just awesome to me! I'm in NE Texas (of course) and we hardly get any snow. I do remember lots of snow days when I was a wee youngster but not anymore. The most we get it seems only lasts a couple of days and that's for the whole winter season. We did have a few flurries earlier this year and in two days the temps were back up in the 70's....go figure.

Yesterday I brought my mother to the doctor for an overdue appointment. I had been at her for a while to go but she is very stubborn and if she does not want to do something she just doesn't do it!! Anyway her mobility had decreased further and the doctor has diagnosed that between this and other symptoms that she has been showing she has Parkinson's disease. I had an idea that thus news might be coming but it's different when you actually hear it. On the plus side it means that medication that she has now been prescribed may improve her mobility and quality of life at least in the short - medium term. It's going to be another learning curve I think.

I don't mean to double post, but I would rather just keep this school-related thing separate from my previous post.
It's nothing major, but I think I'll get a B for Calc II. I know it sounds frivolous to fret over a B, but I think I'll end up with a 3.92 overall at the end of my CC GPA, assuming I get a B. I'm planning on transferring after this spring, since I'm set up to go to my local Cal State U, SJSU. I don't need Calc II for the CSUs, but I applied to a few UCs and they wanted the Calc II.
SJSU isn't my final destination, but it's a viable option up to this point, due to not hearing back from other schools yet. Plus, it's the cheapest b/c I could live at home. I'm a Business Admin looking to concentrate in Accounting, so integral calculus shouldn't be the most of my concern. Considering my major, I'm just going to relax and not worry too much if that's the only thing that hurts my GPA. I'm transferring soon and I'll have a clean slate. So what that I screwed up one class. I'm not going into engineering or comp sci.
I mean, I'll try for the A, but if I screw up my 2nd test, like I blanked for the 1st, B it is!
ETA: It doesn't matter in The Long Run, right?
ETA No.2: I didn't bomb it as hard as I thought. My professor was apparently very generous about partial credit.

@RudieCantFail - can you get into a group with other people and make up test style questions to give each other. All of: the making up of the questions, the answering of them, the checking and double checking of the answers, and helping out whichever of your friends haven't yet 'gotten it' will be good study. Do enough of that and there's a chance you'll all ace the test.
@FP - best luck/wishes/positive vibrations sent.

Sorry to hear about your mother, GA. My uncle has Parkinson's and it is tough I have to admit. Take all the help you're offered. My own mother has had a sinus and chest infection for the last two weeks and just can't seem to shift them. She's worn out from medication but it's a worry.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. We are hoping thatat least in the short term the new medication will make my Mum better than she has been, after that we will see. When dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers Mum wouldn't let any of us register with support groups, or enlist other help etc, but I think we learned our lesson there adn I will be as proactive as I can be in terms of lookim for help/advice etc.

FP, I hope the worst is over and you'll make a speedy recovery - although you probably won't be reading any of this for a while.
GA, I feel for you. It's hard enough when a parent becomes ill but they can make it so much harder by refusing help and insisting they can cope. I was lucky with my father as he was willing to accept help and remained gracious (and sensible) to the end but my father-in-law promises to be quite a challenge. He's fiercly independent but also paranoid and delusional at times.

Fp, good news!
On my home front, my husband had rotator cuff surgery last week and he has been in a lot of pain. They gave him a 'block' which didn't work, so they had to put him out with anesthesia. From my understanding, if it had worked his arm and shoulder would have been numb for a couple days after the surgery. He didn't get that numbness and has been in horrible pain right upon waking up. Plus it made him sick. He has had a few very rough days, but is feeling better finally. I'm his therapist (doctor's orders) and he doesn't like me very much right now, but even that is getting better and in just a week he can do the exercises easier and it doesn't hurt as bad. They said recovery time is 4-6 weeks. He's an outdoors kind of guy, so this laying around all day doesn't sit well, but he has to! He can't lay down to sleep either. Thankfully he can sleep in his recliner. Thankfully, it's March Madness time and he loves college basketball! Prayers or positive thoughts requested please!

Villanova just had to lose that early to mess up a lot of people's brackets, but I'm still rooting for UCLA for National Champions. Oh, thanks Soda. I had assumed you saw on my FB page that I had liver cancer.
Brooke, no treatment as the cancer was removed, but I will now have to start a programme of regular MRI scans until they are sure there is no reapperance of the cancer. If this does happen the treatment would more likely be chemo or radiotherapy rather than more surgery. It's also of course possible that if it reappears it will spread, which will be harder to control.
I may as well mention that while the feeling around the scar has been uncomfortable, today I feel almost normal with no need of painkillers. I've been driving, but haven't tried taking the train into the city yet.

This is probably the most difficult post I’ve ever written on here, but I feel I have to be honest, not just with you but also with myself. I’ve been trying to avoid admitting this to myself, but I feel like The Border has changed in the last few months or so and I just don’t feel I fit in very well on here nowadays. I still love the Eagles, and I really don’t feel that excluded or anything like that, but I'm finding more and more often I have very little to add to the discussions. For a while I did log on basically to post in the Off Topic section, but that wasn’t what I joined the board for – I originally joined because I wanted to talk about the Eagles and their music, and the music of other artists, but the topics always seem to be overtaken by some agenda or another. To be honest I struggle to take much interest in a lot of the topics on here nowadays, and this is why I’ve barely been on at all over the last month. I therefore feel the time has come for me to say goodbye.
In case this sounds personal, I should probably also add that in the first three months of 2017 I've posted less on any message boards than I have for a long time, so I think at root things in my life are changing generally and I'm spending my free time on different things.
I will probably do a last post in the games threads before heading for the exit door. The difference is that i want to learn how to build amps mics speakers effect pedals etc. My mother works at the university in the Political Science department. She gave the Ceta(STEM) Ceta stands for College of Eneginering Technology and Archetiecture email and I talked to them.
So I am doing a two year program which is my gen ed but I get a Associates Degree. Its a Liberal arts program but I am doing their Business Program. After I finish my two years I am going to transfer into the Engineering Program. I might not finish in 4 years brcause of some classes I miss but I am most likely going to end up taking winter classes so i can graduate on time.

Good luck with your dissertation, thelastresort! What field of study are you doing your graduate studies in?
After a couple months of stressing a little bit out on college acceptances, I'm finally glad that they're all rolled out. I got accepted into my local CSU, San Jose State, but I was rejected by Cal Poly SLO for Business Admin - accounting w/ a 4.0 in community college. I was bummed about that for a month until I finally heard back from the UCs.
I was super happy that I got accepted into UC Irvine for Business last week and UC Davis (last week) and UC Berkeley for Economics today. I'm leaning towards Irvine just because I want to be a business major and not be forced to do a graduate degree in Econ to even have a shot at a job.
Berkeley is a great school, and it's very enticing despite me not applying for business, which is almost impossible to get in. My 3 in AP English didn't qualify for English 1A, so I knew that my chances were shot for business. I have a cousin who did Enviro Econ and Policy and he works for Google Maps, so there's some hope as an Econ major. The worst part is that I'm only a pre-Econ major at Berkeley, so if I don't get at least a 2.8 in major classes or overall (not sure), then I can't get into the Econ major.
I'm also glad that I got rejected by a good school that was in the middle of nowhere. At least I could see Fleetwood Mac at whatever school I got accepted to without worrying too much about transportation.

Good luck with the dissertation thelastresort.
I have lots of students writing dissertations right now. Advice I give to them when they're in this stage is as follows:
Remember to reference properly.
If you are struggling over language, remember that the first priority is that the reader can understand what you are saying. Use simple straightforward language unless more 'fancy' language does something the straightforward language does not.
Break your text up. It makes things much easier to read if your text is divided up with headings, subheadings, tables and figures (depending on topic), images, and paragraphs.
Paragraphs should be about a single topic. Don't try and put too many different concepts into a single sentence. It may sound silly to introduce a paragraph with a sentence that says what the paragraph is about, and end with a summary sentence, but it does actually work.
If you have trouble deciding what to write next, consider stopping and just writing a rough outline of the topics and sub-topics you're going to cover. Then once you've got the topics listed and ordered, you've broken your writing down into a list of topics, you've got a lot of small problems to solve, instead of one massive one.
Sometimes I start by writing out the chapter headings. Then I take the chapers and break them down into subheadings, then into sub-sub-headings. Even if I'm not going to use sub-sub-headings in the text. If I keep on breaking it down like that, I end up in a situation where each sub-sub-sub heading might be a single paragraph or even sentence. Then the whole thing becomes much easier to write. For me.
Remember that you know everything about your dissertation, but people reading it for the first time don't. Think about what the reader will know at each point when they are reading your thesis. Make sure that you describe things to them before you expect them to know them. The easiest example of this is that acronyms should be defined the first time you use them. But, it applies to more general concepts as well.

RCF - Congratulations ! Wow - UC Berkley ! Just graduating from there alone should open doors for a bright future. Will you go there ?
TLR - Good luck on your dissertation. I only have a BA so I have no advise other than to say all this work will pay off in the future.
FP - Best wishes and prayers for continued healing and a full recovery.
Brooke - How is hubby doing. Reason I am asking is I have a partially torn rotor cuff in my right shoulder and may need surgery down the road. Does your husband feel it was worth it? Hope by now he is feeling much better and on the road to a full recovery.
A nephew of mine was married a couple of weeks ago and two of my sisters who live out of state(Ill.) and my BIL, niece and nephew also flew in. It was so nice to see everyone. Because they are all grown now and everyone is busy with work, life, etc, we do not get to see each other as often as in the past. I do have to say I do not know how all those kids wore those six inch heels. My feet hurt for days and my shoes only had a two inch heel !

Thanks, LuvTim, thelastresort, and New Kid in Town!
Right now, I'm debating between UC Irvine business - accounting or UC Berkeley - Econ. If I wanted to do the accounting route to a CPA, it would take me approximately the same amount of time to get enough college credits to be licensed. UCI may take 1-2 years of CC coursework to get it done cheaply, but w/ UCB, I would probably do a 1-year Master's in Accounting at my local CSU, SJSU.
I've got to make some calls to Berkeley on whether I should go for a math or a comp sci minor, since Econ isn't that great without quantitative skills. If I can take accounting classes from the business school, then that would be very helpful. I doubt that, since I would probably be locked out of it. Business majors get first priority on that.

Thank you for asking, he is doing much better, finally! I hope you don't have to have surgery! It has been 8 weeks tomorrow and he is still doing therapy at home, which the Dr. told him to do. The arm is weak and has lost muscle tone and that is hard for him to accept. He is a carpenter and is wanting to do some work, but a bit scared that he will accidently hurt it, like accidently beginning to fall and unthinkingly grabbing something with that arm. I guess he'll just have to try it and see how it goes. He says if he had known how bad it was going to be he wouldn't have had the operation. But, the doctor said he would have eventually lost use of his arm because of the tear in the muscle and the ligament just hanging on. So, who knows?! I think in a couple months he will be glad he did it. He's just not one to sit around and do nothing and that has gotten quite old for him.
And best of luck with your choice in colleges! I'm sure you will figure it all out!

I'm almost done with spring semester for college. I got one final and a presentation done and my next is in a few days. Am a bit annoyed as my summer class I signed up more than likely will be cancelled as they have a low enrollment policy. :( They have to have at least 7 and we only have 6. It would put my plan a bit behind schedule but I've had this happen before. However, the plus side of having summer off would be I can finally work on editing my 6th novel so we'll see what happens.

I had an issue the week before last with a former student threatening to shoot me and eight other people - the police got him, though, and they don't seem to think he was all that dangerous since he got released on bond the next day. He's forbidden to contact me or any of the other people he threatened until his trial but still.
Makes me want to go out and buy a gun!
I'm so sorry, Soda. I'm surprised I haven't heard about that down here. That would had been all over the news even if nothing happened.
Be safe. I'm glad they got him and you and other people are safe.

Exactly what is the torn rotor cuff please NKIT? Reason I am asking is that I have been experiencing shoulder pain over the last while. It is barely noticable a lot of the time, BUT, when I turn it or stretch my arm back (like say to scratch ny back or do up a zipper) I get bad pain and impaired movement. I have googled it and it sounds like Shoulder Impingement Syndrome - have you heard of this? I'm on holidays from early next month until September so I may seek medical help then if it doesnt improve

Ga, it can mean lots of different things and it will take an MRI to actually find out exactly what is wrong. Even with that, there can be more wrong than is seen, as was my husband's case. His was really bad and was living with constant pain and taking too much high powered drugs just to get by day to day. He finally had the MRI, which is pretty expensive if insurance doesn't cover it. His did pretty well. He had a torn muscle and ligament that was just holding on. There was also a large bone spur that had grown through and torn the muscle that had to be removed (sawed off). He also had a piece of bone that was floating around in there and it had to be taken out. I think he will be glad he had it fixed sooner or later. Recovery varies according to each individual. We have been doing his physical therapy every day since and he's so much better!
His regular doctor didn't think he needed an MRI either! Of course, he was feeding him the drugs and enjoying his income off that too!
I also had a shoulder injury several years ago when I fell coming down our stairs. I didn't go to the doctor for a couple weeks, but it didn't get any better and I finally did. I had the frozen shoulder-couldn't lift it very much at all. I had an MRI and there was a small tear but the doctor told me I could try physical therapy first. I did and it worked. I have a tinge of pain once in a while, but nothing that has worried me.
I hope you don't need surgery!

Thanks for the advice Brooke, its not majorly sore except when I do certain moves with it. The MRI sounds like a good idea (I'd get it free here anyway). I think I can manage till the Summer holidays but I will try to do something then as if it does need treatment I will have time for it to recover too. Hope your hubbys shoulder issue is ok now.

Glennsallnighter - I am sorry I did not see your post to respond sooner. My doctor did not order an MRI until after I had been in PT for three months and was not getting much better. That was when they found out I had the partially torn rotor cuff and and a small amount of torn cartg.
My shoulder and upper arm hurt like heck and I couldn't lift my right arm completely high above my head or behind my back. I was in PT for 6 months and had a cortisone shot. It has been bothering me again off and on so I am considering going back for a second shot.
Sounds like Brooke answered you regarding the frozen shoulder. I have a friend who had it so I know it is very painful. Perhaps you should ask your doctor for the MRI. Good Luck.

Hi everybody, it's been awhile since I've posted on this site. What originally started as a short break from social media/the internet to focus on a new semester of college turned into a semester-long hiatus from most of my usual websites. I've been focused on college only for the past few months. As a result of this, I've maintained my 4.0 GPA, made the Dean's list, and joined my school's honors program. I also branched out socially as well; I joined several clubs (history, Model UN, book club, political science club, CAB, among others). I should be going to a few conferences with the Model UN(Atlanta, Ga and Ottawa, Canada) and political science clubs(Savannah, Ga).
I also managed to be elected to the position of junior representative for the student government for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. After next year, my school will cease to exist because of a merger, so to be on the last student government is an honor to me because we(the SGA) will be the voice of Bainbridge State's student body as the merger moves forward.
I also just returned to the states from my two week study abroad trip to Scotland. I can't put into words how much I loved and enjoyed that trip. It was the experience of a lifetime, for sure. Seven of my Bainbridge State classmates, including my best friend, were also on the trip (20 students in all). The professor in charge of the whole thing was one of my two favorites from my school.
This is a photo of all of us BSC students with our professor in front of Linlithgow Castle.
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/kim_dixon2/FB_IMG_1496344604584_zpsv8ocaqse.jpg
We stayed at a hostel in Edinburgh, but went on several day trip to places like St. Andrews, Linlithgow, Sterling, and Tweedbank. Plus a 2 day/1 night trip through the highlands.(We spent the night in Oban). The other days were spent exploring place Edinburgh like Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, St. Giles Cathedral, The National Museum of Scotland, The Writers' Museum, Arthur's Seat, Greyfrairs' Kirkyard, Calton Hill, Grassmarket, and the Surgeon's Museum. We also went to a brand new play that focuses on the relationship between Mary, Queen of Scots and John Knox called Glory on Earth,, on a ghost tour, a literary pub tour, and we danced to traditional Scottish music at a local dance hall. The nights were spent exploring Edinburgh's thriving night life scene.:censored::drunk::soda:(picture something stronger than soda)
Unfortunately I injured my left knee and ankle when I tripped down some steps at St. Andrews' Cathedral, and I also caught a cold. Despite these setbacks, though, I honestly had the time of my life in Scotand. I hope to go back in the near future!
These two photos of my best friend and I were taken in the courtyard of Holyrood Palace and in the lobby of the Lyceum Theatre where we saw Glory on Earth.

Now that summer has rolled around, I have abundant free time until August, so I hope to be able to post on here regularly. I know that alot has happened in the Eagles world since January, and I look forward to once again discussing and conversing about one of my favorite bands. I hope that everyone is doing well. :)

Bainbridge State College is located in the small city of Bainbridge, Georgia (main campus); it has two smaller campuses in two equally smaller cities in Georgia. Student enrollment is around 2500 students. BSC is a stepping stone for most students, including me because it's mainly a two-year(AA degree for me) college, although it does have a four-year nursing program. However, around this time next year, Bainbridge State will be only a memory. Bainbridge, the city, is in extreme southwestern Georgia, and is located about 50 minutes north of Tallahassee, Florida.

Thanks for the congrats and welcome backs, everyone. :). Sadly, my college excitement now consists of movie day this coming Wednesday, which kind of pales in comparison to Scotland. I'm ready for fall semester to arrive. I miss working on projects/ essays, although I am currently working on an honors project/potential convention project for my political science professor.
My classes in the fall will be: a class on the United Nations(taught by my history professor, the Scotland one), British Literature(it'll be more enjoyable having been to the UK), Humanities I, Spanish II, and Safety and First Aid. I may add another class since this load is kind of light for me, but with my added responsibilities, I might not.
In my non-college life, my favorite great uncle passed away earlier this week. He'd been ill for about a year or so, but his death was a surprise because I didn't know his health was that bad.
I also had to go to the doctor because of the ankle injury that I suffered in Scotland. Nearly three weeks later, it hasn't started to heal and the pain/swelling is making walking difficult
I'm waiting on x-ray results.

My college requires us to meet with our academic advisor in person to sign up for classes.
British Lit is appealing to me because of the professor who is teaching it. I'll probably take American lit sometime in my college career.

AG - Thanks. I have cousins in Valdosta and cousins who live about an hour north of Atlanta. Enjoy your summer - you deserve it ! Loved those pictures of Scotland - it's on my bucket list. Been to Ireland. Went to Germany, Austria and and Switzerland while I was in college.

Haven't really checked in for a while as things have been very busy of late. My parents are still holding out at home but they DO need regular support from the family to augment the care services that they are entitled to. In saying that its brilliant that they are able to continue living in their own home and hopefully they can stay there as long as possible. We had Dads 91st birthday last weekend.
Kids are doing well thank God, as is the hubby!
We are heading to the USA for a short holiday this coming week. I won a midweek break in Atlantic City and we are going to augment it with a night in NYC (Freyday) in order to see Tom Petty and special guest star JOE WALSH. It will be my first solo Joe show, so while I'll never be as excited about seeing anyone like I got excited about seeing Glenn  I'm still looking forward to it. Are any other Borderers going?

Hi Glennsallnighter - Hope you have/had a wonderful time at the show. I tried to get tickets but the seats I wanted were too expensive. I had a family wedding and college graduation.
God Bless your parents ! Hope you have a nice time in NYC.

Best wishes for a safe journey and very special holiday. I've never seen Tom Petty but he's known to put on a great show and Joe Walsh is a special treat. Enjoy!
