As for the settlement, I've heard some say he got as much as $50 million, but I think Dreamer's figure is more likely. We'll never know for sure unless someone spills the beans!

The lawsuit was allegedly settled for somewhere between $20 - $30 million, although the term of the settlement were sealed.

Was this after his divorce? Meaning felder got to keep most of it? If so thats a nice chunk of change which should last him the rest of his life if hes smart. Plus imagine hes gets royalries everytime hotel california plays on the radio no?

I was wondering - would he have to share it with his wife if the lawsuit were initiated before the divorce was finalized? The settlement was in 2006 which is years after his divorce, but I think the lawsuit might have been started before the divorce was final. Not sure about that, though. Anybody know?

Of course he's going to present himself as totally over it and say Glenn is bitter. People do the same thing with their exes. Everybody wants to sound like they're the ones who are fine and the ex is the one who has issues.

So Felder paints himself as the big hearted man who is willing to forgive and forget, unlike that resentful meanie Glenn Frey. We're all supposed to respond with 'Aw Felder is definitely the better man here!' That's Emotional Manipulation 101 but it seems from the replies so far that nobody is buying it. I think that NOBODY is over it, not Glenn, not Don Henley, not Don Felder, NOBODY.

As for Felder's negative opinion of Glenn being 'validation' ~ That's like saying my grandpa's negative opinions of Obama are validated because they're shared by Mitt Romney. 'I knew Obama couldn't be trusted and it's not just me, Romney picked up on that too!'

I agree he didn't criticize it too badly though, he didn't even complain how the lawsuit was not even mentioned. Maybe that was agreed by both?

I know a lot of people think I criticise the man too much. Therefore I will leave it at that, becasue this post by HD & a couple of others have summed up my thoughts on this matter.

If anything the most disturbing singular moment of the film was when Henley called Felder by "Mr. Felder"... in "Mr. Felder was given many opportunities to sing".

My wife turned around and looked at me with a "Did he just call him MR FELDER?" look.

I found Henley's use of MR very odd. It didnt seem to be in a friendly respectful way. Am I alone on this?

Henley has also been known to call Glenn 'Mr Frey' when he feels that Mr Frey is overdoing the In Charge stuff.

Felder mentions near the end of his book that when the lawsuit was settled he immediately turned round and gave half to his ex-wife... and said that she deserved it. Interpret that how you will!

I agree with the first part of this, but not the second part. The part I disagree with in bold. I think he wasn't dissing the documentary, but rather surprised that Glenn was still so "hot" about it.

I think DF is somewhat over it compared to when his book was released and I truly do think he loves the music and misses playing with them now (as he said in his breakdown on Part 2), but I don't think he has warm and fuzzy feelings for the members, not just GF and certainly still feels betrayed. I do think it was a bad deal getting fired and that it wasn't right, but I don't think he's over it completely or close to it. But at least he didn't get heated about it or still seems overtaken with anger about it. On the contrary, he seems quite sad about it, or at least that's the way he comes off on that doc.

I do agree with him on that Glenn was acting vile about it unless it was a reenactment as some have mentioned of what happened then and dramatized for the film and not the fact he's proud of it or that he still feels the hatred. I'm not quite sure if I believe it was for show, but I don't think we'll ever know, lol.

I'm not sure why the lawsuit/settlement wasn't mentioned but maybe there is some legal implications saying they couldn't.

I think that says quite a lot about him. Nice to see something nice written about him.

Wonder why this documentary thread has become so much about this one topic. I enjoyed seeing plenty of the other stuff in the movie.
I especially liked the story with Kenny Rogers. I didn't know that Henley invited him to a show & that he went to see his band play. It was an interesting interview with Kenny & how Don came to LA.

I just noticed that in the first scene of the film when they are singing 7 Bridges in the Dressing Room, Joe Walsh gets lost in the 2nd verse "Southward...". He hesistates until halfway through "South" as he watched Frey.

I'm watching it again. (I think I have seen it every time it's shown). And Randy Meisner seems like a sweetheart. He is so soft spoken in all of the interviews, both the early ones and the current.

I also noticed that the clip from "Vietnam" was a clip from Forrest Gump.

Just a few random thoughts.
