Love that demin shirt! When I first saw the first photo, I thought that Don was wearing shorts. Then I quickly realized that it was one of the back up singers. It was a great thought while it lasted. Has Don ever worn shorts? I haven't seen a photo of him in them.

Lovely photo, NOLA. :heart: Further to your Avatar which you mentioned as one of your favourite photos in your birthday post - I think it's everyone's favourite - it's sooo hot. Don always reminds me of the character Stanley Kowalski from Streetcar Named Desire when I see this. I think it's the masculinity, sensuousness and drop dead physicality emanating out of the photo. I can imagine him in his white vest prowling the stage oozing sex appeal. Of course, it's only his presence I'm referring to as similar not the character himself who's a bit of a brute...just his 'je ne sais quoi' - okay, I'm getting carried away a bit but you know what I mean...c'mon it's DON!!!! :heart::heart::heart:

I think the close-up cover on Inside Job really showed just HOW handsome Don is - his eyes...the chin cleft....just perfection. I have the CD in my car and every now and then this cover catches my eye and I almost ...:fainting:

It is a book about Harry Crosby who was a very interesting flamboyant figure in the 1920s. Strangely, I received my copy of the book today, hunting it down after seeing this photo previously. Interesting to see what Don was reading about in the day...

He was the guest performer of the event. I posted a picture from the event in October where he was on stage singing.

I actually wasn't talking about Don. I was talking about the lady's dress. That's why I said warning. I'm use to Don's hair and goatee.

Don definitely needs a rest - poor baby :heart: He looks really good in red - I love the photo where he's smiling with Howard :smile: It was a really good interview and I'd say Don enjoyed it too!

He painted a lovely picture of his relationship with Glenn and gave credit to everyone who deserved it.....and he didn't say anything bad about Mr Felder either - just mentioned that he had brought about six or eight pieces of music for Don and Glenn to listen to and the opening riff of Hotel California was the only one Don liked so he kept listening to the music over and over until he got the line, 'welcome to the Hotel California' and then Glenn filled in 'such a lovely place, such a lovely face'. Howard thought that was amazing because that's how Lennon and McCartney worked - really cool to hear about the process.

He colors his hair for crying out loud! He has totally grey beard! That orange color he used is just not found naturally unless your name is Carrot-top. Thankfully he has scaled that back a bit.

If it wasn't a perm his hair right now would still be curly. We saw pictures of him as a kid with straight hair.

But HFO era was the zenith of his gorgeousness :fainting: However, I'm not greedy and I'd settle for F1 Don ( see avatar ;)) Present Don definitely needs to rethink the hair dye but Annabel has been looking after his hair and makeup and she probably thinks darker looks better but natural would suit him more. I think that Don and Glenn were blood brothers. It's hard to think of one of them without thinking of the other. I really hope that Don is ok, or at least as ok as he can be at a time like this. Hopefully, his own wife and kids are there for him, and that maybe he can take some comfort in knowing how much Glenn meant/means to Eagles fans worldwide, and that we all share his grief.

I keep thinking too NOLA that while Glenn had blood brothers in the literal sense, he was Don's 'only' brother in terms of being close (maybe Richard Bowden as well?) but I bet Glenn was the only person who knew all of Don's secrets from those hedonistic days in the 70s and vice versa - so yeah, of course I feel sad for Glenn's family but Don was part of that family too and I just hope he's okay cos we know that he's really a sentimental softie under that stern exterior. I mean he still keeps his mother's clothes and furniture exactly as they were in her house!!!

My heart breaks for Don soo much. I really hope Don is ok too. He lost a brother he never had. Probably Richard Bowden and Glenn were his very closest friends.

He knew Glenn for 45 years. They know each other's secrets. They were roommates before and after they were famous. I'm an only child myself just like Don and I know how Don feels to not have any siblings. I do have a few friends I call my sisters. The know that saying, "sister or brothers another father or mister." Its soo true. Even though they couldn't stand each other in some parts of the 80s, they really couldn't hate hate each other. But deep down, they loved each other during those times they were apart.

I think all the Eagles family were close to each other especially the children who were still living with their parents. So they would always see each other when they're on tour with their fathers. So if their father is grieving, they are grieving too because they knew Glenn for all their lives.

That definition of the word isn't used, at least not in the rural American south. Fringe means loose strings or excess strings on clothing. I've heard of Oklamoma the musical, but I don't know anything about it or any songs from it.

"Fringe" is a common word in the US, but only when used to describe fabric - the way it's used in the song. It's never used in the States to describe hair. (We do sometimes use it as an adjective as well, meaning something extreme or out of the mainstream - ie "he's part of a fringe group").
