I agree with you JMS, I debated on whether or not to include that picture, but I love it anyway. At least now we know why he was so sad in that picture and the fact that he had to keep it quiet made it harder... really feel for him and the rest of the guys at the moment :sad: but the smiling pictures of him get us through this time......

I thought Don looked too thin in some of the photos, especially the one with Kenny Rogers but then I saw this one and I lost all thoughts :grin: I agree with you DD - VERY cuddly and adorable looking :inlove:

I showed my mom the picture of Don with Kenny as she loves Kenny and she said "Is he standing beside the waxwork model of Kenny ???" She's still laughing at how he looks :smile:

Thinking of Kenny, I remember his response when asked by an interviewer about his plastic surgery. He said something to the fact that he lost the sparkle in his eyes. Of all his features, they've changed the most.

Hey guys I am not implying there was anything wrong with him. It could be a sty or a sinus infection. Heck he could have walked into a door. I just noticed it & it looked sore that's all.

I've had that swelling a few times - usually from allergies or lack of sleep and Don has been in Nashville for the weekend catching up with friends :smile: but he still looks good !!

I prefer suit photos in which the top button is left undone and the tie is loosen. Don looks more relaxed in them.

Maybe it's the camera angle or how the lighting/shadowing works? Like from a HC video in his recent Euro tour, he looked a little fuller.

When he has his shirt out, you can tell he has put on a little weight, but than you have him tucking in his shirt and it looks like he has put on a little weight too. SO I guess it depends on the angle of how the picture was taken.

He might still have that little belly, but not like how its been for the last few years. Don's been getting into shape. He's going to need it now that he's going to be touring a lot on his own. Like he said. He's pushing 70. You're going to try to do everything to keep your voice strong and your own self in shape to do 3 or 4 months of touring with a few weeks off in between. And he probably be doing 2 different legs of touring now too.

I don't think we will ever see Don get down to the weight he was between the 70s to early 90s.

I think Don looks great. He look better than he's ever been. I want the rest of the guys to be around for a long time. So I want them all to be healthy.

I think it's been a conscious decision to lose weight and stay trim, not anything to worry about. I remember him commenting somewhere that he travels with a personal trainer and his recumbent bicycle. In September, when I saw him with Billy Joel, he seemed pretty thin. Personally, I think he looks better with a tad more weight on him, but Shun is right. His touring schedule has to be pretty grueling for a 60-year old man. I'm glad he's made the decision to stay healthy. I'm sure it gives him a lot more energy and stamina!

Don is looking really well at the moment - its probably the angle of my photo that makes him look thinner. I would have preferred to be standing beside him when I took the picture but you can't have everything :grin:

Saying that, Don's shoulders and arms look really broad and muscular and he fitted into that green shirt really well - so glad I got the chance to take those pictures !
I hope that Don keeps up the good work and knows how much we appreciate him!

I am not saying he looks bad people, he's gotten thinner, healthy & lost that belly which is not good for anyone. All I am saying is the white shirt is too big on him, the sleeves are below his shoulder & makes him appear larger. I like the new look buff Don. Permanent color fades and has to be redone too. I have to go every four weeks to get the roots and and she usually pulls it through the rest too.

Oh for the good ol' days when I didn't have gray hair! :sigh:

I know Don got his hair coloured and usually I don't like it when it's too dark but it actually looked really good on him - I got close enough to judge :love: and it made him look younger.

I like the color he had on this tour. He needs to stay with that color. Its not too dark and its not too light with a touch of gray on the side. It was just right. I think he kinda had that color during the HFO era.

Now if we can get him to keep that goatee off. :hilarious: I still can't believe he was clean shaving at the Hyde Park concert. No stubble. A clean shaving Don which I like.

I think coloring your hair does make you look younger, at first glance. But, when you get a better look, you can see the person is actually older. So, why do we want people to think we are younger than we are? I've never been one to like guys coloring their hair. I don't know why they should be different than women, but that's just me. We always laughed at men that used Grecian Formula! I remember I held off coloring my hair until I was around 40 and when I finally did it I remember wondering if anyone could tell! :shh: Today, young girls color their hair all the time, darker, lighter, streaks, whatever. And guys do too. They don't NEED to, they aren't gray. I wonder why they do it? It seems it's just the thing to do now. And it's so expensive if you have it done at a salon. And I saw a girl at Walmart the other day with all of her hair pink and blue! :yuck: How times have changed!

So, all in all, I guess Don wants to look younger. At least at first glance! :lol:

I too am always confused how it's such a double standard for men and women going gray. Sadly, I inherited my Dad's premature graying so I will have to start dying it soon. He's never dyed it though but oddly now he's thinking of it since it used to be more "George Clooney" style (as he says LOL) but it's going more all white and it's freaking him out. LOL Mine I can still get away with it as kind of looks like blonde highlights, which I was told recently is the better way to go when I decided to start coloring the grays since it's in the beginning stages. It is pretty expensive so I've been trying to hold off as long as I can. LOL

I think all the guys dyed their hair. I always thought Glenn and Joe had the right hair dresser when it came to them dying their hair. Glenn started going light in the later years(he had kinda dark brown color for years) and Joe looks nice with light blonde. Don might had found the right person. He needs to stay with that color.

We've seen Don with salt/pepper hair color(heck even all gray), but I guess after a while he starts to color it when it starts going gray again.

If a person wants to dye their hair, more power to 'em. Personally, I don't have a reason to, so I don't see the big deal about it. I inherited my dad's Native American hair type (not color. His was black and mine is dark brown.). He had gray hairs before he was 18, so I might start seeing some gray hairs anytime now. I might start coloring my hair when I start seeing the gray. Don's hair looks great the way that it is now, and I hope it stays that way!

A lady on fb went to one of Don's shows a few weeks ago and took a photo of him - I think he must have been singing the last 'love' in Desperado but you can see the passion and emotion he put into it. Anyway, I loved it so much and had a bit of free time so decided to sketch it. :inlove:

You never disappoint with your drawings of Don, DD! I love how you captured the emotion on his face while singing, especially the closed eyes. I don't draw as well as you at all, but drawing the eyes is always hard for me due to trying to get the symmetry right.

Little inside tip RCF, if you have a photo of someone you're trying to sketch, turn it upside down and follow the contours of the eyes, mouth, nose etc. It means that you won't be distracted by what you THINK the face should look like (I know that Don is very distracting) which is why I turn it upside down. Try it and see what you think :)

I don't guess it would work too well if you were drawing a live person though. The mental image is hilarious ... Today's my third anniversary with the The Border. I'm so glad I found this board. I enjoy coming on here everyday. I finally saw my first Eagles related show and now I'm ready to see Don in January.

I'm loving the clean shaving look Don is sporting for almost of his tour. I know that goatee will be back for the fall. LOL I wonder if it will be back next month when Don finishes his last leg of the tour for this year. And his hair colored hasn't been bad either. I love the color. Maybe he finally found the right color.
